Pellets or Crumbles?

Interesting...so for you it costs more to purchase crumbles?
For the brand of feed I use, the price is the same for pellets and crumbles in the "layer" feed.
$3.00 more over here at my southern states. And they go through a bag a week or so. I don't know why it cost more. It's like 15.00 bucks vs pellets for 12.00. Not a huge amount of money bUT still.

Thanks.
I wonder why is cost more too.

The only reason I prefer pellets over crumbles because the chickens always have a tendency of knocking over their feeders and spill out all the feed. Crumbles also stick to the ground and attract the flies in the summer as with pellets they get all of them off the ground since their bigger, plus the chickens like both.

These are some of the prices I have to deal with ....

Flock Raiser (50#) $23.49
Starter & Grow (50#) $22.99
Home Grown All Purpose (50#) $17.99
Home Grown Layer (50#) $16.99
All Purpose (50#) $19.99
Starter (10#) $7.90
Layer 20% (50#) $19.99
Oyster Shells (50#) $14.40 - $19.99
Shavings $13.99 - $16.00
I would move to Connecticut. Prices are about $5 cheaper for Flock Raiser and Start & Grow.
You would love it here. We have cold white stuff that falls from the clouds. It's magical. And you get a good workout when you shovel it out of the chicken pen. 20180104_141735.jpg . Actually I would like to go to Hawaii. GC

:lau I loved Connecticut when we visited years ago. Happen upon Mystic Pizza & Mystic Harbor loved it there. Hubby's allergic to that white stuff  The best thing about Hawaii is we don't have all those predators to deal with. We get ALOT of Liquid Sunshine, it's been RAINING since the end of January and there's no sign of drying out yet :hit
