If its my avatar its harlequins Do you mean my BYC page or my thread? I kinda knew you had cattle or horses with the hi powered fence. It was what got caught in said fence is where you lost me.

Those would be Paradise shelducks. The female has the white head. They breed at 2 yrs have4-6 eggs and are mean as hell. They are my guard ducks and believe it or not they are in a dog kennel outside the house(no electricwire around this pen) all the others are shocking

Edited to say If you get them give them their own pen.and bury a barrel half way down in the ground and put some hay in it . You can pull up my photo thread and see.

loL! Their attitudes are why I am getting them. I went to my friends house and as soon as they heard the gate being opened the female started doing that wierd noise over and over and over.. then the male chimed in with his totally different voice.. it was pretty interesting, lol! When I walked in their pen the male put his neck low to the ground like my geese do and started trying to *sneak* up on me to bit my boots! I love an attitude like that! Haha.. I think he said he will sell juvis from them this fall at either 150 or 250 a pair.. is one of those prices the typical going rate on them?

And do you have any caresheets on them? Or are they pretty much just like any other duck? (I havent kept migratory or exotic ducks yet.. only domestic)

Really just the males are mean the females bluff . No care sheet but at the top of the duck forum go to BBB's sticky on migratory and exotic waterfowl. 150 for first yrs are good. 200 for breeders. Im probably gonna sell my breeders and juvies this fall to get some money to get some birds Ive always wanted (african pygmy geese) also most migratory and exotics lay in the spring but my paridise layed also in the fall year before last. Those and the treeducks are the only ones I ever had also lay again in the fall (but just some years not everytime)

Hmm ok.. Are these one of the species that have highly variable prices, based on region? Do you know?

And are you going to be up in KY any time soon?

I wouldn't mind getting some off you..

Yea sometimes a region makes a difference. I dont see my self in kentucky anytime soon .But if you come to the coast this summer for a vacation. Im here. Or check back with me in the fall. When I ship. But be forewarned aint no getting around shipping and box charges 60-100 just depends how much they weigh and with paradice they have to be shipped in seperate boxes or he might kill her. Any more duck talk or questions I think its better to talk on the "duck forum".

Allright, SO... chicken wire on wooden posts with the thought of adding electric to the bottom sound like it would work? I also have the option of 2x4 welded wire. I would, of course, provide the two sides that house the roost with wood all the way up.. which do you guys think would work best? Do pheasants really take care of themselves when it comes to stuff that can fit through 2x4?
