Pennies from Heaven ... There are some wonderful stories here!

I guess I sound silly, but i wish i had some sense of my loved ones bing near. (Mom, Uncles, and grandfather all 5 in the last 24 months). I try to calm my mind with knowing they moved on, but sometimes...I wish i could feel them near, catch a whiff of the same cologne Grandpa wore, or hear the trill of a laugh that was like Mom's, or to see something and know Unk sent me that. Someday, maybe. But in the mean time, i enjoy reading everyone's responses.

Ya'll are making me cry.

This morning as I shifted a stack of papers on the desk a penny hit the floor and scared the daylights out of me. But I forgot to pick it up

I can appreciate the need for feeling close to ones that walk the spirit world. On the other hand you probably get way more sleep then I do. My loved one and friend that have passed will not let me sleep. They are ALWAYS in my dreams. I also have a amazing timing. I tend to arrive when people are passing, sort of to let them go. Happened with Gramps, and Nana.

Anyway, Stay open, it will happen. Don't dismiss the little things. A butterfly, something someone else said that sounded just like....., those kinds of things. It WILL happen.

We all take comfort in different ways, but I find sharing to be especially warming. With open hearts and minds we can find bits and pieces of our loved ones everywhere.

My 4-year old grandson truly believes that Grandpa sends him pennies from time to time. This past summer he came running in the house! "Nana, Nana! Grandpa sent me some money to buy fireworks! He likes fireworks, too, and he can watch mine from heaven!" In his grimy little hand were several pennies he had found outside. Needless to say we went and bought a few fireworks.

Early in October I had to take my mom out of town for eye surgery. She is not one for doctoring, and doesn't trust most of them, but she had a detached retina so it was somewhat necessary. I went to her house to pick her up .... when we got back out to the car lo and behold, there was a penny on the car seat that hadn't been there when I went in. She took great comfort in believing that my dad was okay with the whole thing, the surgery went well and her eye has completely healed.

This is not silly at all. I feel the same way. I was an emtional mess yesterday... missing my daddy pretty bad for some reason. He died in 92. I just lost my Granny, his mom, 2 months ago. I so long to be able to see him, or get a since of him being here with me. To just be able to tell him one more time that I love him, and think of him everyday

When we were living at my In laws while waiting on our house to be ready, I was home alone and had just cleaned the kitchen. When my hubby came home for lunch, we sat down at the kitchen island to eat and there was a penny there. I picked it up and looked at it and told him it was not just there. He took a look at it and on it was the year his aunt died. He looked at me and said "Hmm, that's really weird, today is the day she died in 1995"

I don't know if it is a Penny from her or not but it sure was weird...and how did it get there because I was the only one home and did not put it there.

My mother had a younger sister who died at a young age. About Six months before she died she had lost a lovely unusual ring. Everyone scoured the house and her neighborhood to no avail. SHe was heartbroken and told my mother she had planned on leaving it to her when she died and she was so sorry it was lost.

Almost a year after she died my brother was playing in the leaves of a school yard that no one can ever remember this aunt being in, when he found a ring. He brought it home to show my mother, and lo and behold, it was indeed her sister's ring. My mother said her sister sent it when she had the ability to find it for her.....

Many members of my family have "gifts" that bring many messages like this and others. Sometimes we get messages for other people that make no sense for us but are very meaningful for the person they are meant for.

I thought about this thread when I was getting ready for bed last night, so I looked for the penny. The year on it was the year K's sister was born. Maybe the penny wasn't meant for me, just the startlement.
