Looks great Penta! But it sounds as if you should have ordered two! With chicken math and all..... I started with a 4x8 coop with attached run, then we closed in a pavilion to make a small barn with a 4x6 coop inside and a second run, and I would like to add one to the other side as well....

I think my husband is going to either kill me or have me committed!!!

A better possibility than cochin,,, didn't look that closely at the coloring,,, and not that familiar with the cuckoo version,,, could help you with egg color possibly.

OH! And on the Roo. i have no idea what he is. He's a Barred feather legged handsome roo. Idk what to do with him. He is mild mannered (he didn't even bolt for the pictures) I did a practice blood draw for the CPT license field portion with no major fight and he is nice to the girls. I don't know what I should do with him. So you guys really think hes a cuckoo? The hen I had didn't have nearly as bright of coloring.

If it's not fertile,,,,, it's never going to be an embryo,,,,, or become a chick......  so without a rooster,,,,,, it's just an egg  at best,,,, so not close to an " abortion " ,,,, and the yolk is the energy source for the " possible " embryo that is non-existant in an unfertilized egg

Now,,, will you consider eating them ???    LOL

Maybe...I eat them sometimes....and oddly adore deviled eggs...if they're "in" something then I eat them. Making 2 quiches for a party today.

And that's why I STARTED with a 12x18 coop...with the ability to expand....we don't really need to keep the snowblower out of the weather, right?
