Hello!!

, welcome
I have an irrational fear of horror flicks. It isn't real. You know they are going to get whacked. And yet, they scare the daylights out of me. But I scream like Scoody Doo, sometimes like Shaggy.
Zoinks!....my oh my...

hello to all...somewhat new to this site and chicken raising...we are in southern Huntingdon County...close to the Bedford county border....we have 26 chickens...(5 Roos and 21 Hens) mostly RIR's, some mixed breeds...2 Cochins, 2 Polish, and 2 New Hampshires.
Welcome to our brand of crazy.
After a few days of self imposed exile in the Coop (I opened it, they don't like snow), they were sure anxious to get out this morning! Hopefully they will reward me with some eggs! Mine have gone on strike the last few days.
Mine are out running around too....so happy to see them out and about!
I'm sure we will be in the same boat in a couple of months when the little ones all start crowing! :th But love the 'everywhere a roo, roo!' line! :clap LMAO!!!! Good one! :highfive: Hello, welcome to the madness! May I suggest you get a notepad to keep near your 'puter... because you about need it to keep up with all the folks around here! Glad to have another onboard!! :frow
Yeah, what she said!
Now I have a question, When you left-out your "friday the 13th" scream...were you in the hammock w/ your DH?...they always "get-it" in a hammock!

Welcome!
Everywhere a Roo Roo. hee hee Guess what?!!! My Orpingtons who have not given me an egg since SEPTEMBER, and who have been teasing me with the 'egg song' for about 2 weeks, finally gave me an egg this morning!!!!! Guess what DH had for breakfast?... Seriously?....there are 3 dozen eggs in my fridge. He eats the Orpington egg sitting on the counter. ARRRRGH!!
LMAO...totally sounds like what goes on around here...I save the duck eggs...and the 13 yo decides to drop the laptop on them.

***Ladyhawke- when you did your blood draw, how did you hold/position your chicken? just wonder if our "size" plays a part in how you would hold a nice sized bird. Or do you just have to make sure you have the chooks "comfortable" w/ being handled?..Thank you- Danielle

OMG! that is So something that would happen here....

What a happy day for me. For the very first time we have enough of our own eggs that I am taking my neighbor a dozen for her family. THIS is what I had envisioned when I first got chickens. Sometimes I just get a little side-tracked.....

Laptop!?? EEwwwww... bet that was a mess!
And yep, ours are out running around also, you'd think they'd been in Alcatraz for a year with the way they are acting! Apparently they have NO appreciation for the nice, warm, safe coop we provide them! Ingrates!
Geesh... sounds like a lot of kids I have known! LMAO!
