nope, not serious, just routine for me......fibruos dysplasia in a weight bearing bone that need to be removed every so often...usually every 8 to 10 years..this will be the 3rd time, so i am getting kind of used to it....and hey after awhile you learn how to run on crutches..

OUCH! OMG!

Sounds like you got a great deal! Happy you got that and you are in the right place for hatching questions! These folks are awesome! And we all ove the fluffy butt pics! So bragging pics are of course required after the hatch!

Thanks! I am just wondering how old ours may be for POL... let us know when you start getting eggs!
The 'posing' is adorable, looks like they are showing off for the camera.... but Bumpkin is absolutely lovable!!! What breed/mix?

wing, my sister also gets lesions on her bones which have required numerous surgeries and bone rebuilds over the years.. so I understand what you mean about 'routine to you' so to speak. But really hope you have a speedy recovery and hope you can get out and about quickly afterwards... at least you should be getting into springtime weather for much of your recovery.

Bumpkin is all silkie, has a vaulted skull<<BUMP=BUMPKIN

Adams County here! I have Ameraucanas, rumpless araucana, one barred rock and easter eggers. Used to have some silkies, but a predator break in destroyed them including our only hat trick buff silkie hen. :( I have two Wheaten Ameraucana 1 year old roosters looking for a home. These are nice tame docile guys. If anyone is looking for a Wheaten Ameraucana roo, let me know.
Welcome!!! I'm right up the road!
Hi everyone, Cj from Cj's Silkies

Hi, I'm from SW PA, in Beaver County...about 30 miles outside of Pittsburgh. My husband and I have three Barred Rocks who haven't laid their first eggs yet. We're watching, should be any day now!

So excited, so i have to share! I follow Brinsea on Facebook and they offered some "demo" incubators at a lower price. First come First serve kinda thing. Brand new, just sitting out for people to look at, minor surface scratches. I got a Brinsea octagon 20 eco. SO EXCITED!!!!!!!! I hope to be able to join in on the easter hatch-along. I have never hatched eggs so.... fair warning. I will be asking all kinds of questions! :) Can't wait!:ya

yeah, the York county poultry fanciers meet once a month, they're planning the poultry show in April. They're all really nice and I feel like I can learn a lot as well as talk to nice chicken people ^^ as far as I know, they're meeting Feb. 12th at 7 p.m. at the dennys on route 30. I'm gonna try to be there ^^
Fiancee says I can go! YAY!

What does everyone have? Right now, I have a mixed flock, but have new Ams coming (silkied and lavs), seramas growing out, paint and white silkies coming, turkeys coming (midget whites, working on more royal palms) and birchen and bbs marans in the bator. Oh, and mille fleurleghorns coming. There's more, but mostly that's it, besides the call ducks, pekins (when I get a drake), hopefully peafowl and sebbie geese.

Ok After getting a few birds from scooby , which i love. I called the one shadow bc it follows me and I just love it. But I have a very serious question... I need at least two more birds.. And I want them soley on egg color. i need a pink egg layer and a red speckled egg layer. They can't be the small chickens please and NO turkeys:) LOL Any one know what breeds lay those color eggs. Oh heather i think one or two of the 5 I got off ya is laying:) They are blue layers
