Does any one need any roos? We don't eat chicken, so I don't really know what to do with them other than the auction. I have 7 young LF cochin roos and I also have 2 silkie roos that need to go.

I am heading from State College to Newport tomorrow (if the weather cooperates) and would be happy to drop them off along the way!

Hey, I forgot to mention...there is a livestock swap at the Tractor Supply in Parkesburg this Saturday, I don't know who arranged it, or how they will pull it off with the weather. I THINK it's 10-2?

Sorry for all the posts, I believe it is the OJ effect, now if I can only keep myself away from the Rare Breeds Auction....
What?! Somehow I missed this. Gonna check it out!

I just checked my girls to give them some fresh bread.. and my white hen is dead. My baby snow white had a cold for a while and I did everything I could to get her better, but it seems it was not enough. She was a lovely little hen who layed blue eggs.

Oh crud. So sorry, seems like only our favorites leave us so quickly.

Ok I am looking for more signs of GIRLS verses BOYS behavior....when my peeps start learning to dust it seems like the girls are more quick to do this first....YAY OR NAY? and the first to jump on the edge of the bins to roost are the boys ....YAY OR NAY?

So girls are first to dust?

Then the boys will be the ones in the recliner with the remote shouting "yo chicks, bring me some scratch and some of Chad's OJ"!

So sorry. Life is tough at times. What kind of hen was she?

I have a little happy news. There are 4 scovies this morning, not 3. The grey male was walking across the yard when I looked out the window. I was also able to see that the other survivor is Elvis, a young male with lots of personality. Cross your fingers that I can get them into a pen tomorrow when they come up in the afternoon to eat corn.
