I'm not sure what my future plans are for them. April (mama2my4) gave them to me to keep a small hatch company. I could probably be talked into giving them up if someone twisted my arm hard enough and I knew how much to ask for them.
Chad, I would go again if I could get into a class that is hands on and I could get certified the same day.
Sorry. I just spent 2 hours trying to splint a welsummer chick's toes, it has curled toes and cannot walk. I failed, miserably. I am back at work and it dawned on me that this coffee stirrer in my hand would make a decent splint so I will try that later. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I put her back in the incubator with the recent newborn chick. They are cuddling. I fear I am going to lose her. 8(
My wife just sent me these pictures of 2 different chicks. Chick #1:
Oh and the final Welsummer Chick:
You can try stick matches or tooth picks....maybe use a twist tie as rope.....
Here are the two white pullets I posted about before
Oh my gosh, grabbing those babies is soo tempting!!! They're so beautiful!
I have another pair of Seramas going tomorrow, and possibly my lonely Barney (who's been in a rabbit hutch since Fred kicked his butt). Oh, can I add that the cockerel that's going with the pullet has never had a gal around before. He really needs to learn some manners, and EEEWWWW! Poor girl! It's really lovely over here right now.....NOT!
I wonder if I have a place to put more chickens?
