You have LF Cochins?! It's hard finding anyone with Cochins around here

are you planning on breeding them?
I'm not sure what my future plans are for them. April (mama2my4) gave them to me to keep a small hatch company. I could probably be talked into giving them up if someone twisted my arm hard enough and I knew how much to ask for them.

Baym, where are those Welsummer chick pics?

Sorry. I just spent 2 hours trying to splint a welsummer chick's toes, it has curled toes and cannot walk. I failed, miserably. I am back at work and it dawned on me that this coffee stirrer in my hand would make a decent splint so I will try that later. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I put her back in the incubator with the recent newborn chick. They are cuddling. I fear I am going to lose her. 8(

My wife just sent me these pictures of 2 different chicks. Chick #1:

Chick #2:

Oh and the final Welsummer Chick:

You can try stick matches or tooth picks....maybe use a twist tie as rope.....

Just got back from 4H and fired up the incubator for Easter Hatch. I'll wait for it keep steady....and then IN they go!!!

I never made it to Green Dragon, so I've still got these Olive Eggers Chicks. I was also going to bring a Big Black Orp Roo as well as 2 Welsummer Cockerels... ARRRRGH! Was really looking forward to my feed bill going down!

Oh my gosh, grabbing those babies is soo tempting!!! They're so beautiful!

I have another pair of Seramas going tomorrow, and possibly my lonely Barney (who's been in a rabbit hutch since Fred kicked his butt).

Oh, can I add that the cockerel that's going with the pullet has never had a gal around before. He really needs to learn some manners, and EEEWWWW!
