The Sharpsville Swap is awesome!! I don't know the exact numbers but there were many breeders (30+ ?) selling and it seemed like hundreds buying. A very good turnout in the spring. Even the fall swap had a great turnout although it was rainy and dreary. It's definately worth the drive. It's a great way to meet other chicken nuts and fellow BYC'ers. Ok guys...I just HAVE to sing praises!

This new feed that I have been feeding (approximately a week) has changed the flavor and color of my bird's yolks tremendously! I am amazed! They were on DuMor. Forget THAT feed.

They are doing SO much better on "Southern States" breeder/layer 16%. My chicks? 100000% better on the medicated 18% chick starter! (The chick starter can go higher but I didn't need that high!)

I am shocked at the difference!
 
I had to call ALL over to find it. Where Purina is sold, they don't carry it. You might have to call your feed mills and go from there. I bought Dumor because it was the only feed available here. I drive 25 minutes to get the Southern States.

I used to live in PA and moved to Georgia in October and I started mine and still have them on Southern States and I noticed a tremendous difference in my flock also. Not only the eggs but everyone started to look healthier too! If you can get a scratch blend called Knockout out up there, get it and try it. My flock goes crazy for it and it is highly nutritious with 12 different grains. Between the Southern States and the knockout, I do not need oyster shell to supplement the girls at all. Everyone has been thriving really well on this feed!!

I can get it at my local Agway farm store. I also think it smells better than both Dumor and Purina and it is cheaper in price too!
