Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Sounds like your really busy! Are you wanting to sell any quail chicks or eggs? My father is wanting to get started with quail.
I have quail eggs available now & may have a few chicks in about 2 weeks depending on how many hatch.

I live in south western pa and wanna get some chicks. Im looking to get about 6 and they have to be hens. Would like a couple different kinds is there a hatchery around here or is it better just to order from mypetchicken ?
I have a few left. I'm about 10 minutes south of Wheeling on the Ohio side of the river.

Quote: My pekins all go right in when we go in the run to lock them down at night. All we have to do with most of our birds is say "bedtime" & they head into their coops/boxes & wait for you to shut the door.

Question for anyone who knows. I know leghorn roos are very loud compared to other breeds. If my leghorn girls cross breed with my other breeds will the offspring be as loud as a pure leghorn roo would be? I know I have a while before I need to worry about this, but I'm just wondering.

ETA: Just took two ticks off one of my tetra girls, they were deer ticks and they were imbedded. Since we've had so many animals with lyme I checked with my vet if chickens contract lyme and if it could be passed to the eggs. The vet said they do not contract lyme and from what I found online he's right. So there's a helpful fact for anyone who did not know.

Is it really only 7:30?, feel like I lived a lifetime since I woke up. Many of our birds did not get cooped last night, LGD took cover from the storm in the garage and we were hit hard by a predator. I'm pretty shook. Trying to focus on being thankful for the chooks that are still here, but still feel like crud.

Funny, my Americaunna Roo is MUCH louder than either of my leghorn boys.

Quote: Hmmm, maybe I'm wrong. Then again I'm going off of what I've read and what my dad remembers from the family farm 40 some years ago. So far the only one crowing at all is one BCM, no one else has even begun trying yet. He's just about clockwork already though right around 0430, 0730 and 1930 everyday so far. He was a little early last night with the storms though.

Hopefully everyone made it through the storms safely, and with minimal damage.
