I am interested in any bantams! I need to get friends for my mom's hen. We just lost our last rooster and she lost her other hen and rooster months ago.

Oh, you're very welcome. It was a pretty ride, and I enjoyed seeing Rodriguez and her chickies. I brought home a cute little boyfriend for my blue bantam langshan girl "Violet".Hello All!! It's been a busy weekend and I have neglected to give a much needed THANK-YOU. Saturday MsLadyHawk went to visit Rodriguezpoultry and played taxi cab for me. Rodriguez sent back six beautiful D'Uccles, and I couldn't be happier. MsLadyHawk THANK YOU, they got to me safely, and thanks for your hours of driving (I wonder what you came back with to do all that driving)? My DH would never have let me go that far, so you made it possible. Rodriguez, I hope you're enjoying your roomier coop, DH just finished my new one tonight.
For Both Of You Crazy Chicken Ladies, here's that big kiss I promised:

Hoping someone has some insight on your observation,,,, I have 2 French Black Copper Marans that I was certain were pullets and they are very much colored like their sibling roo brothers, even have some copper feathering over their backs... I've never seen any hens with as much coloration as these birds have, many can't even get the copper to show on the neck and these have color to spare.I went to the county fair tonight. I FINALLY see the attraction to bantams! Oh my goodness they are so adorable!!
I have a question, though. In the standards, there were a LOT of chickens labeled "pullet" with shiny saddle feathers. I thought that was just roosters? if it helps, they were RIR, BO, and LH.
Yes, I still have them and yes, I'm okay with processing chickens. I've never done it before, but a guy I work with is a 'chicken guru' and he's talked me through the process a couple of times. I'm not squemish, so it shouldn't be a big deal. Are you still looking for a new home? I would have come last week. I assumed with so many interested they would be gone. I am having a problem with my chicken math right now, but if you still have them, I can always find room for more.Besides, by the time they are done with quarantine, the extra roosters will be gone.... Somehow. Did you say you are okay with processing chickens?![]()
