Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

We eat fries both ways around here, plus with chili on them...LOL

As for the cats, if firearms aren't a possibility there's always they way we get rid of coons & rats around here. Fill a trash can with water & drop the trap in & walk away until it stops bubbling.
That's one way to keep your trap.

Rosie: I do want to say I have cats and love mine. They are wonderful pets and Gavin absolutely adores them, but I draw a clear line with feral cats and other nuisance animals. One is a pet the other is a nuisance, kinda like I do with our birds some are pets and some are food. I'm weird I can disconnect emotions with things like that, unlike most of my family. Such as my mother who refuses to eat chicken now, especially if I cook it...gets me outta cooking for them sometimes though hehehe
Quote: I see your mayo and raise you mayo and ketchup mixed with loaded fried (started when I was preg and I still do it)
Quote: Done that, but usually only with the buffalo chicken fries I get...man now I'm hungry for some. I never should've started on the beers...only place that delivers here requires a $25+ order, I may love them but not $25 bucks worth.
So one apologetic email from porters later and my ENTIRE shipment is being replaced. Wow, go Porters!!!! And wow....soon to be over run by poults......does anyone need turkeys!?
Can they be a holiday dinner? ETA: I'll try to get some pics of Roo and Stitch tomorrow, they both have taken to hiding when my phone is out...maybe I'll try a reg camera.

I might need a thanksgiving :D Will have to see if the feed bills aren't in suffering before getting anything else though. Yeah, it would definitely hurt to eat $12-13 poults, Porters maimes the pocket when you order. Such a cool selection though! Are you looking for any variety in particular? Birdbygavin, cool! Looking forward to pics!

Catching up with morning coffee before I head to the kitchen to carve a baby carriage out of fruit for a baby shower today. Now you guys got me all hungry with all of this collard greens and chicken talk!!!

Warning venting ahead lol

Looks like i'll be calling animal control today, hopefully they get off lunch soon & answer the phone.

The old man nextdoor to us died months ago and he had a few cats - like 3 of them. Anyway I have been seeing more and more orange cats (like his older ones) - there has to be about 15 now (if not more) all in varying sizes. I thought a coon or something was eating the dry dog food outside, well while digging out the garden before I turn around and there are 3 little orange cats going to town on my dogs food.

For a while there, there were relatives of the old guy coming over feeding them while they cleaned the property & rest of the acres of land full of JUNK for an auction and I haven't seen them for about 2 weeks so now the **** cats are coming over here, they are totally feral - you can't even approach them, they hiss and are just mean. I like animals but i am not going to be feeding animals that aren't my own.

The relatives don't even come and feed the 2 horses, they leave it for the grandson of the guy that died that lives on the other side of us to do it - it isn't HIS responsibility and they get out ALL the time, nearly causing a few accidents with cars, the mother horse you can approach, just but the son is just down right mean and out of control. The horses haven't been properly socialized for years we have been told. I am just sooooo angry at the whole situation

I have been calling animal control and it seems like they have just taken the phone off the hook - they line just rings as busy for the last 2 HOURS now grrrr I called the lewisburg vet hospital seeing if they had a number and they gave me the local dog/misc animal catcher - he said he doesn't deal with cats and says that the town of millmont doesn't deal with cat problems either

Yeah but the roles will be reversed lol
Yeah a am thinking we are going to have to go down that route - doesn't bother me, no one is looking after them so they aren't getting the care they need and all the animal shelters around us I looked at online have nothing BUT cats for adoption ..... if only we had the means to "dispatch" them

WOW, scary stuff - we have the mountain about 2-3 miles behind our house and bears come into town on occasion - nothing scares me more than the idea of a bear, we don't have those d a m n things in australia lol

This is such a sad situation. I am a crazy animal lover, but having all of those stray cats is going to lead to disaster for them too. Without being fixed, there will soon be tons of them and illness will be passed around, and they will be feral and going nuts for food :( Have to say that my feelings towards the organizations that are supposed to help with animals left in this position have changed significantly in the last few years. And if you find someone that helps them, please let me know, because I would work my a$# off to help raise money for that group......because I would love to find a group with the interest of the animal coming first. Sorry.......have just had too many bad experiences/ heard too many bad things lately and just don't understand (the majority of) animal rescue groups anymore. No offense is meant, but I have always traveled heavily in the circles of these things, and am so disappointed I could cry.
This new interest in raising chickens is a strange thing..................

I found myself getting very very happy after having my folks find a big roll of hardware cloth in their basement that they don't need and just offering it to me!

I am pretty sure this kind of thing never provided such elation in the past!

kinda weird! yet if it makes a person happy................cant complain!

It's only the beginning, Lisa. Pretty soon a baby chick will be worth more than a diamond ring :)

AWWWWWWWWWWW!!!
So one apologetic email from porters later and my ENTIRE shipment is being replaced. Wow, go Porters!!!! And wow....soon to be over run by poults......does anyone need turkeys!?

Was considering trying one or two turkey to see how they are and what they are like......

bless me father for I have sinned....its been 14 pages since my last post....*yesterday at 4:00p",,,,,LisaY stopped by to look at the chooks and can now visit Blarney for real inspiration....

Feral cats are not good for anyone,,,,you might try the public heath as a way of getting them removed, but, it might be easier just to do it yourself....maybe the SPCA can help? ....

and about gardening.....I grow better grass in the garden than in the yard....it beats me how I can give a 4" veggie a 'head start' on the weeds and two weeks later the veggie(s) are overrun....is crab grass edible?

Have a good day all!

Nothing Fancy, but Yum! Potatoes and Onions.. sauteed in butter to a crisp ( a little soft in the middle) Usually with Egg & grits & sausage! Thanks WING for the Idea!!
UUMMMM...Where's my plate??

Sure thing Wing :)

So I go out this morning to water and I work my way around to Dexter and Lily, my two 6 week old Royal Palms. Of course I get there and Dexter is strutting! So cute to see a little 6 week old poult display! I'm in love with turkeys already...
