Sharron, I had hoped to go there today myself but I knew first thing this morning that I just wasn't going to have time to go. I might try next Monday though. Can you tell me anything about how it went and what was there that is related to chickens? Do they auctions fertile eggs or chicks or pullets? What about coops, feed or other poultry related items? If the sell chicks or eggs, or anything really, what kind of pricing did they sell for? Sorry for all the questions, just really interested.
they normally don't sell poultry related things per say, just what who ever wants to get rid of, sometimes still air incubators go though, some look brand new, sometimes waterers, feeders, like i said, what ever people want rid of, now chickens, yes, all kinds altho you have to know your chickens cause they don't tell you, sometimes they have fertile eggs, again you just guess at what kind unless someone like me takes fertile eggs and mark them, the auctioneer doesn't know what blr wy , blue wheaten marans or buff laced brahma's are tho
, believe me, i won't be taking any again, but you can pick up some really nice chicks sometimes, already half grown to fuzz. i took some chickens down today, i got 4.50 for some and 7.00 for others, which for down there ain't bad, the old timers there are tight
altho sometimes what i take they open the purse a little
like today, what i got was really good for them to spend, and i ended up with a pair of owl pigeons, or suppose to be a pair, anyway, that was a mistake, i thought my husband wanted them, he thought i wanted them for a friend, but anyway, 11.00 for the pair!!!!! believe me, thats way cheap.
