1st blue pullet (only blue unfortunately) she has good body.. very petite though but her crest I hope will get better when she molts...if not she just going to be a breeder.


And lastly my roo he got 1st at the farm show but they dq'd him because of wry tail he has good form beautiful crest and comb but the tail isn't bad

but oh well every judge is different ill prob just keep him as a breeder because he has good qualities regardless so hopefully I can breed the tail out in future hatches

Totally off topic ....

Anyone have annoying neighbours?? Our neighbours just bought the property on the other side of us for their daughter (which is great), anyyyyyyyyway for some reason no one has fences out here - I am used to fences, good fences make good neighbours lol BUT they are now constantly walking through our yard to get to the other property & using their 4 wheeler, when they can just walk/ride around a shed and NOT be in our yard. Their dogs are constantly crapping in our yard and just lazing about our place.

It ... is ... driving ... me ... insane the past few days. We don't have the money to do a full blown fence around our place and we haven't bought this place ... yet .. so don't want to fork out too much money. I need to do something for privacy and to keep them out as it is just common courtesy, after all we don't go walking through their yard - not that I would, I was brought up to stay out of peoples yards unless invited.

Anyone have any BIG ornimental grasses like Maiden grass - if so do you think they would be good for a little bit of privacy - from what I have been reading the blades of the grass can be like razors so that might be a deterrent

You can always use garden stakes, and electrified tape fencing. You can get a zapper that is solar.

Hmm, yes raspberry bushes sound like a great idea to me.... Hehe. Red raspberries seem to get huge thorns plus they're coated in little ones. I could get you some for FREE if you would like. We have them growing wild here....

Before you do anything that will make your neighbors mad, please make sure your chickens and anything are legal. Ticked off neighbors ALWAYS go to the local government to rat out the chicken owners!

Yeah the chickens are fine - the people that used to live next to them on the other side used to have chickens and a few pigs - they have had 1-2 chickens in the past themselves. Our chickens are about 80ft if not more (i am not good with american measurments lol) away from their house and about the same distance from the trailer on the property they bought at auction.

I am not trying to make them mad, just don't want them going through my yard whenever it seems fit for them to think they can. I am also sick of being outside and having no privacy - god I miss fences!!! lol They are the kind of people that don't speak much and have taken around a year to even have a casual conversation with, if you aren't going to talk to me if i see you outside then why should you use my land as a foot highway!

Hmm. Bad neighbors. I have 7 within 1/2 mile from me. Dogs, 4 wheelers, kids terrorizing my horse, idiots trespassing and opening my coop doors, poisoning my cats... Yep. Someday when I have money, I will put up a 4 1/2" fence w/ 2' wire at the bottom of it. At the base, I will plant a gorgeous bed of cacti that have those little fuzzy thorns and the huge 3" thorns. As a precaution, I will also run 3 strands of 6 joule output electric fence. I am sick of the adults, kids, deer, neighbor's horses getting out and their darn DOGS! I have 14 dogs owned by idiots that think it's okay for their dogs to run miles away from home. Especially to my place where they terrorize my chickens and use my yard as their toilet! It doesn't help that I really am not a very tolerant person.

D*mn and here I thought I had it bad! Sorry to hear you are having so many problems!!

I just went out the front to have a smoke and found one of their dogs taking a c*ap on our gravel, when I ran at it to get it away, I found out it pee'd on the dog house I just made for our dog, who is chained on a 22ft chain. Later on I am going to go scoop up the cr*p, bag it and tonight I am going to go and fling it into their yard, it stinks and I don't want to have to smell it right outside my door!
