Technically, they go through a molt at a very young age when they get their grown up feathers and they will go through another molt before being a year old and then of course every year after.

I think my momma silkienis molting. There are white feathers all over the run. At first I thought a creature got her chicks, 2 are white and the other is a grey polish/sultan mix.

Yep, they sure do. Well, snakes are more of a threat to eggs and chicks. Skunks will absolutely eat a chicken. They are not as aggressive as raccoons but they will take the opportunity if presented to them.
