Off topic and not chicken related but.... I canned spaghetti sauce yesterday. Did 17 jars yesterday, so adding that to the jars I did the other week it gives us 29 jars of spaghetti sauce alone. Still have boatloads of tomatoes to process but now I am just going to do straight tomato sauce and some canned diced and whole tomatoes.. I wanted to ask, if anyone planted squash and or zucchini if their plants leaves started to turn a powdery grey? Ours look like some kind of fungus or something attacked them.... Also, is it too late to put some more onions in the ground?

Getting everything ready for the wedding. Moving step-daughter and grandkids back in (hopefully for the last time). Being diagnosed with diabetes. Going quietly insane. Yeah. I promise to be back and posting after all this chaos.

Oh, gosh, I hope things get better for you soon! Try to enjoy the little things and try to find some quiet space to help quiet and relax your mind. That always helps me when I get really stressed. :)

My Zucchinis are still okay. Maybe its from us getting so much rain this year?

yeppers ashen zucs, cucs and canalopes have gone yellow and are dieing, rust on the pears, red leaf curl on the peaches, catapillers on the cabbage and brussel sprouts....peppers doing good and tomatoes doing OK.....

Thanks for the advice everyone. IF I were to put any in I'd be placing any chicks in the brooder ASAP, but more likely than not I won't be putting them in. She nearly has a full clutch (from what I've read a second mallard clutch, in the same year, is always smaller) and now that she's close I don't want to take an egg out to check for the fertile spot. Gavin was so excited today (ok technically yesterday), he collects the eggs and came running in holding a brown one, then about 1/2 and hour later he comes running into the house again with a pinkish/cream colored egg. He's been asking every day when the reds and tetras would lay, so you can imagine how excited and happy he was when he found them. Got a picture of our newest duck additions: Elvis (furthest from me) and Priscilla They are settling in wonderfully. Although they have no contact with the other ducks (or the chickens) they can see everyone and are constantly trying to get out of the quarantine run. I have a bad feeling this is going to be a losing battle, for me. It was with the mallards and unknown cross we picked up about a month ago, stinkers were only in the quarantine run for a week before they managed to escape. Thanks Beaglady for such lovely birds, and it was great meeting you! We barely got over the mountain before Gavin asked when we could come down again lol. And thanks for your lovely additions Motorcyclechick and it was nice meeting you and your hubby. They're settling in the brooding room right now, since we only have one quarantine pen right now. And the pickles tasted great!
What a great way to start my day! Beautiful ducky pics and love hearing about Gavin collecting the eggs.

Another off topic and not chicken related comment.. Lol I am so excited, the kids are going back to school and I am starting to work at a Arabian horse farm.. Oh, I haven't ridden a horse in 14 years now and I am super excited to get back into the sport. I can't believe I let riding go for so long..
