I would be willing to bring any you are willing to "bird sit" for me & more than happy to provide food. I would love to keep them all together if possible. And I know your birds are well taken care of. PM me & we can discuss options.i

I wish I could help. I've never had chickens, but I want to. I am spending the winter reading up on how to do it right. Unless you want to take a chance on a total novice and/or you are desperate, I had better pass.

Not sure if there would be any interest, but I had 3 turkeys processed before Thanksgiving and I would like to sell one. They were 5mon old BBBs and they dressed around 18-20lbs. I've seen were people are selling home raised birds for $4/lb, but I'd be happy with $45 or trade for a young, live self blue/slate or a Spanish Black Jake that's between 6mons and 1yr old. The bird I cooked for Thanksgiving was around 25lbs, was tasty and the juices made the best gravy I have ever tasted! The breast was not as full as a store bought turkey, but they were still very nice. There was over 3/4 of the bird left after feeding 5 people.

At this point I AM desperate. I will know more on when we have to be out by this afternoon. Anyone willing to take a pen of birds please pm me your phone number & location. JJ got us into this mess so he may need rehoming as well...grrrrrrrrr

A) Creole Orpingtons…wish me luck there. I may be getting coal in my stocking when the Paypal bill comes in
C) Sounds like a PLAN! How did you know I never got that Cider started?? The family drank ALL my apple juice too…but I got a new container of Motts just this week. I forget the other variety you use with the Motts just let me know!

today the birds had turkey for the first time..it was the leftover carcass from yesterday. I have never seen them so active, crazy active....
D.gif
they were all "jacked-up", like i gave them some crazy...they were running around all day, and it was cold. They usually just hang out, scratch here and there in this cold, but today...wayyy weird! I went out quite a few times today to 'check' on them...at one point I though they ate the bones too!!
Literally..only the bones were left, absolutely NO soft tissue on that carcass and it was in several pieces spread out all over the run. When I went around to clean things up, (cause I do NOT want to entice critters anymore than what they already are), the birds were following me around, jumping at the bowl I was putting the bones into. They were really something to watch today...going to have to give them "meat" more often!!

We just had our 'Thanksgiving' yesterday, I'm going to bring the carcass out shortly.

I know someone looking for a goat, they currently have a lone, horned nubian Doe. I don't know how serious they are as this goat has been on her own since Summer and each time I ask, 'did you get your new goat yet?'…the answer is 'no', but it's worth a holler if you'd like me to check it out for you. PM me the details (age, sex, breed, horns, price, ect).

I may be able to talk DH into housing the turkeys if they come with their housing, but you know Stake, Wing and I are WAY over here in EAGLES country, so delivery could be a problem. Oh, and there's no room for JJ here…unless that turkey enclosure is REAL big.

I love this! Looks like a goat shelter to me!!

I took a page outa Wing's book last night and did some hatching egg bidding on e-bay (after MsLadyHawke got me inebriated)...it appears I may have to pay Way too much money on WAY too few eggs for a variety that I do NOT currently own! Just WHAT was I thinking??!!.... Umm something like this... 'Ooooo....pretty.....CLICK'. I need to change my paypal password, and not tell me the new one. Actually, I could just change it and not write it down, that'll do it.

B:

A) what eggs did you get?
B) if you want one for you goats let me know....
C) per "B", was going to stop by an help you with your first run of hard cider and check your chooks....if so...I can grab you a 'goat shelter'....
