Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

I have run into a dilemma & may have to get rid of a lot of birds really fast if we don't find a place in the next few days. Please pray for us. I have way too much money wrapped up in these birds to just lose everything or have to give them away. It looks as if it may come down to getting rid of all of the animals or all of us including the animals being homeless if we don't find something in the next day or 2.
I do need to sell a bunch of ducks & 3 geese even if I can keep the rest. If anyone is interested in any of the birds, bunnies or goats please pm me.
so sorry silkie..I thought you had a place lined-up?..I hope things work out, and soon!

Velociraptors!!!!! Bwahahaha!
yeah...i was walking through the run and I really felt that they were "watching" me...

...they were so different today... was it the meat?...My gosh if it was...

I know Spring is awhile away, but I was wondering what everyone was planting. I was gonna plant a pumpkin plant or two, a watermelon plant, peas, lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, and strawberries. I have a medium sized garden, probably 15x12 feet.

I know I asked this before, but does anyone in Western PA (can't really travel that far from northwest Westmoreland County. Would travel about an hour) have a healthy bantam cochin hen? I'd prefer to stay away from light colors. I have a free range flock, and while I do have a rooster, he's still young and learning the ropes of roostery. If you have a particularly broody hen, I'd LOVE that. I'm looking for a girl who will hatch me lots of babies.

Chippy:

I grow a pretty large garden...my new planting is that I saved seed from a pink pumpkin, will be growing cantaloupes, watermelons, a large variety of peppers...cucs...tomatoes...lettuce, kale, green beans, and a couple types of peas, I always try a couple of root veggies without success and the bugs always have had at the cabbage and brussel sprouts...

Well I know where I'm going if the apocalypse hits

Sorry to hear....I am a long way off your beaten path...but I have a grow out pen that will handle 4-6 winter hardy chooks...if you can supply the feed I can warehouse some for you for a few months...

Chippy-----I have "plans" to plant quite a lot ......yet what will actually get in the garden........time will tell.

lettuce, swiss chard, leek, spinach , lettuce
radishes , carrots,
zucchini, cucumbers
maybe..........not sure----the baby pumpkins
maybe small watermelons or similar ( for the chickens)---would need to go vertical on this one.

a dwarf fruit tree for the deck ----possibly
maybe a small nut tree if I can find a good location

tomatoes of assorted types: cherry, pear, Italian plum
peppers: green , yellow banana, hot peppers

potatoes in a tower or bucket of sorts

I have strawberries and blueberries overwintering in my sun room and hope they will produce well.

I would love more blueberry plants for the deck and
red raspberries, currants and gooseberries if I can find good small plants for a good price

herbs like: flat leaf parsley, lots of basil, chives,

that's all for right now.............but its quite a lot.........hope I can really do it all!

I will be building some square foot raised beds in the late winter and spring.
already have a spot of earliest veggies like swiss chard, lettuce and spinach..........

hope I can do it!

easy to plan , hard to do!

I have pens that can be set up if you have space & would be more than happy to supply feed. I would even be willing to pay at least a small amount (I don't have a lot to spare right now) for anyone willing to take care of them for me until I can take them back. I especially want to hold onto the 6 turkeys, 6 geese, 7 ancona ducks, 7 call ducks & my son's 6 Polish. Everything else can be replaced easily if I want them back later.

I'm near Wheeling but have been looking at places as far east as Kittanning, Indiana, north as far as Transfer.

All birds are NPIP tested as well.

I also have an extremely extensive list of what I WANT. What I'll actually plant is a different story. I have peppermint planted next to the coop, and that comes back every year. I plan to plant basil and oregano under there too. Possibly some dill.
