I also have serama,,, they may be available,,,,they are actuallly hubby's, but since I started with the bantam cochin, we like them better....

I have 2 rooster and 1 hen that will be 2 this summer...(this hen is a major brooder )
then i have 3 young hens that are late summer hatches and have not started laying yet....I think these are originally from Sally's first stock, I got them from Eli...
Blarney if your daughter would be interested in these older one's ,   she would be welcome to them...

Awesome! I haven't run it past DD yet, I'll see what she thinks. What is their temperament and variety?

temperment is hard to judge,,, when they are in the big pen with everyone else they prefer left to their own thing, but when they are housed alone, they will fly to the top of the head when you walk in.......I think they may be bipolar...

I've noticed bipolar behavior with both large fowl and bantams. In a coop with other breeds it's 'don't touch me!' But when separated to their own pen they come right up like a puppy:) And as for 70 days...I can count em down but it doesn't mean the weather will cooperate!

Hello everyone,

New to the hobby, picking up my first two this weekend, and getting a couple more chicks at the end of the month. I am about 45 minutes west of Philly, and look forward to being able to learn from you all.

Howdy from Chester co....what are you getting and from where?

2 Blackstars that are 2 weeks old, then waiting on some Rhode Island Reds that will be there on the 31st. From a farm up in Collegeville. On the lookout for a Plymouth Rock or two in the next few weeks too. I am down south of West Chester.

South of WC? I wonder if we're neighbors, I'm right off of Stroudsburg Road. You're a brave soul brooding in winter….although I've got some 2 week old chicks and 2 hour old chicks that are going to brood inside. YIKES!

I am down off Wawaset. Yeah these guys are going to be inside as well... trying to get a jump on things so maybe be lucky and get some eggs ;)
