Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Anyone here have any fertile EE or OE eggs available. A family that's friends with my daughter wants us to hatch them some for them.

I didn't get much viewing time in at the show yesterday, I sure hope I can get back there tomorrow.. we'll see. Here are some pics, I know you wanted to see some LMP:

I realize this next one is focused on the bars (duh) but it shows his 'type' better than the other shots. Gotta love the Bantam Cochins

I have rainbow eggs (assorted layers covered by ee, oe & cream legbar roos.) Most of the chicks will lay blue, green or olive. Now to just see if they get back to laying in the next couple days after being moved. I have 3 batches of eggs in now with most developing nicely. The few duds were likely too cold when collected. We had some freeze a couple days.

Is that grand chapmion turkey bird still there? He was awesome.

I usually have OEs but not recently. My eggs are only brown and cream now….kinda boring.

I have a Marans Pullet that I'd like to sell. Thought I'd offer here first. She's healthy and lays quite a dark egg, but she's got some qualities that I can not pass on to my flock. Her tail is too high, she has no feathering on her shanks and NOW I noticed that she has white earlobes (gasp!). I attempted to add size and egg color from a different line of Marans, after the raccoon was finished with my flock I had only this pullet left from that line. I see now that she will not be adding size or color to my group but has several other poor qualities (DQs) to pass on, so I need her gone. She's not particularly attached to any of the other chooks, roosts alone at night, forages just a slight distance away from the others, so I don't' feel back about separating her.

So this is my long way of saying…she lays dark eggs but should NOT be used as a breeder for anything other than Olive Eggers. Anyone interested?

Chickenboy100, the turkey should still be there, he was not 'displaying' when I saw him, thought I'd get a picture later, but then had to leave in hurry. There were quite a few good looking turkeys at the show. I wonder if the Champion Turkey from the Farm Show is the same one that was Show Winner at the Lebanon County Fair….Anyone know?

I would take her to add to my pen of mixed layers but no way of getting her here! Your a little far to drive for 1 chicken, LOL.

She sounds like she'd be a wonderful addition for somebody like us. I don't have any plans on breeding anything in particular. I can't commit for something like that. I have a Welsummer pullet who hasn't started laying yet. I'm hoping she'd going lay dark brown eggs.
Good luck finding a home for your girl. Maybe if you still have her in a couple of months when I see how our Welsummer turns out. Where are you again? Around Lancaster?
