Ahh yes, I know what it is now. I'm going to be doing wooden post and have no intention of digging 30+ holes by hand. My DH laughs at me when I use the post hole digger because I barely get any dirt. I also don't want to hear him complaining about having to dig that many holes by hand for "my chickens".

Guess I should buy him a small farm tractor and then he would just need to buy the post hole digger attachment.

I would love to have a post hole digger... I would have my turkey and chicken runs up in no time. I have all the posts and fence! No will to dig those holes.

The house will be much dirtier once this weather breaks. You will be outside wishing you had a port-a-potty near the coop. You will realize that its way past time that dinner should have been made, laundry wasn't done...again, dogs haven't been fed and the house has been a mess for months because the only time you come in the house is to go to bed lol. I've been told several times to go out and live with the chickens

Are you looking into theCrystal ball that is my future? I've already lost track of time and neglected the house putzing around in the garden. I'm doomed now!

Look how big my nuggets have gotten in just a week!

They do grow quick! Got them Thursday, and Wowza! We already have some perched on the ledge! It's fun to weigh them on the food scale (in grams). It's amazing to see them putting on weight so quickly.

Speaking of which, any ideas for alternate chick snacks/food for week old chicks? Thanks!

I'm in Manchester, Pa. Northern York county. No clue on their genders. Their combs and wattles are barely visible.

I'm sure they're adorable! Want me to ask around the York county group I'm part of on facebook? They seems to be a bunch of em lol

Things I have used... just mince or fine chop anything you are going to give them...

Oatmeal thinned with fine chopped canned peaches or pears
Chopped/minced nuts... peanuts or sunflower seeds
raisins
cooked fish
cooked chicken
dried or fresh meal worms
small crickets (live)
tuna fish
lettuce or cabbage
any fresh fruit (can just be left in large chunks for them to peck at, they will bite off what they want)
Cantaloupe
Watermelon
Hard boiled or scrambled eggs
