All I can say about this week is that sleep is so overrated, till you are not getting any.

My midget white Turkey eggs also came in today, they will he set tomorrow, so we should hatch turkey about the same time..I think the midgets are early Hatchers though
 
Silkie your eggs ship on sat morning, that will Be the first I can get to the pro,,, been collecting since monday , so it's gonna be a large box..

Anyone else want to do an egg swap while I have the bators on?
 
Dang, I'm going to have to set on Friday. That messes up my schedule! I normally set on Sunday so my hatcher has a day or two to get cleaned/ reset. This means I'll have to get both hatcher's going so they don't overlap! (yes, weekly hatches, trying to limit myself)

I've been enabled, so I guess I'm back. Sally Sunshine's post about the blue salmon faverolles sucked me right back in.

I had been doing such a fine job of resisting new birds this year, til now.

Set 25 Narri turkey eggs yesterday too, and put aside some faverolles and marans eggs to set. Just finally separated some of the Ameraucanas into a breeding pen yesterday.

Let the games begin!

I have a good...bad issue, well for me bad cause I am not doing the "chick" thang at the moment...
Hen-Bree is broody..not just "oh, I think I'll sit for a little bit here"..oh no...she is all out CRAZY broody..and she isn't even sitting on ANYTHING 99% of the time, sometimes she will sit on someone elses egg...she is not laying, she has de-feathered herself on the underside to 'soften' the nest, she will just sit there all; day ....so I pick her up, she stays in that "i am sitting on something" position until she get's the motivation to go and eat..peck around a little, get a drink..and poop the most stinkiest, green thing I ever saw

...we are getting our meaty and turkey pullets on the 3rd on May...Does anyone think she would "mother" them for a bit??..maybe help to snap-her out of this craziness...We aren't going to do anything about her until we get back...like, maybe separate her from the rest, and try to coax her out of broodiness....
