not me but howdy anyway!.....want chooks do you have and what are you looking for?....lol.....we can help!!!

We have sex links, 1 bantam polish wc black, Wyandottes silver laced, bielefelders pulleys and cocks, coturnix quail and ancona ducks. Looking to import Scott's grey and dumpy from England. I know a few people from there 1 used to live in the usa for a while that I hung out with. So I have a good in. If I have the funds I will do it but if not I'll have to wait another year. Sulmtaler are some other nice chickens I was looking at.

The right answer is to quarantine, but in reality, my feelings are....

I don't worry about it in those situations. I have two neighbors with various poultry, ducks and chickens. We visit each other. The wild birds fly everywhere. Life is full of risks. I don't worry about it from certain limited people.

If I were to buy from auction or a swap it would be different. If I get some from wingstone 5 miles away where I've been regularly, I don't worry. I think I have more to worry about from all the wild birds and critters that are around. I'm trying to manage my property for wildlife, so that is the bigger risk.

Again, just my opinion. The right answer is to quarantine. It all depends on how much risk you are willing to accept. In also known to set up displays at tsc, and I don't quarantine when I return, but there aren't other birds there, either

Thanks for the opinion! I was kind of leaning that way anyways... :)

X2
It depends where I got the birds.

Ray, hubby will deliver a big tank, he needs to talk to you.

Thanks Wing! I think I will just "introduce" them to each other today. Hopefully the new one catches on to the way things go around here and heads into the coop without any "assistance" ;). I will post pictures soon.

HAHAHAHAHA!!

uhhhh SpookyNook road? Tape Worm Rd, is not far from me....How did these road names come to be?

omgosh..tapeworm?? that is just wrong...hahaha
We must have passed each other...we were in Feasterville today. Pictures and had a meeting with Katherine's manager.
Such beautiful weather right now. I am looking forward to experiencing a Lanc. Co. sunset ...I do miss those. The mountains where we are block out most of the sky..hahaha
That Epsom does work!! For some extra pesky bugs, it may be necessary to spray every other day until they get under control. Just remember that the pollinators, (bees)..don't like it too much either. I like to spray in the evenings when they are going to bed.

Great pics!! Love the watermelon!!

these chickens continue to be funny!

I have 2 nest boxes and 4 chickens

but clearly only one nest box is the best one..................they all want that one.

Today one gal was in the box working on the egg laying while another one was just directly below............standing totally still for a long long time.............as if waiting in line!

Then I guess she felt things were getting more urgent so she joined the first gal in the box. The box has small bar on it so she stood on the bar directly over the laying hen and I was thinking she might just lay her egg ON the other hen!

As soon as the first chicken was done...............as in immediately .............she layed her egg too!

Oh girls.................what is wrong with the other box

I even cleaned the coop today and freshened up the boxes................

Now that my basil is growing really well I even put a little basil in for aroma therapy...........................

its harmless entertainment!

Hey Lisa, I realize this is a couple days ago..I am still catching up in a few places...How do you grow your basil...I have one on the front porch, it is doing okay. I would like it to be bigger though. I also have another one in the cutting garden, that is not doing very well. It is alive, but not "thriving". It constantly wants to flower, and it's leaves are yellowing. I love basil and use it ALOT in cooking, I hate to have to buy those plants in the grocery store every month...it is too expensive.
Do you have any suggestions?

I am no expert on growing basil but what I do is working
I bought basil seeds ----organic ones................and then just put them in a container on my deck and they have grown very well. I pinch off the leaves and a bit of the stems when they start getting bigger..........someone told me that helps them grow better...........today I cut up the leaves etc that I picked and froze them in olive oil in an ice cube tray.

My deck is sunny............and they don't any special treatment.............I water everything about the same...........when they are dry.

the soil...........is miracle grow and vermiculite and peatmoss combo................hope this helps.......

Dominique Roosters available,.
They are not mean, I just do not need 4 roosters of the same breed.

Will go camping in a couple weeks, just checking to see if anyone can use them.
