Does anyone have mixed breed duck eggs that I can hatch and grow out for market in the fall......I say mixed because I will not be tempted to keep them. And a better chance of a large duck.
You might want to consider raising mule ducks.?

My girls have been hanging out on the porch all day, they don't like this rain. I guess it's my fault, I have been known to turn the ceiling fans on for them on hot days.

Got our first egg today! We're ECSTATIC! Courtesy of our silkie Cloud. 18 weeks old today :) I'll load up the pictures tomorrow when we're down in town. I already tried and just don't have enough signal. We're so thrilled :) it was still warm. We cooked it up and cooked a store bought egg also to compare looks and taste. It was WAY better than the store egg, no contest. And as a bonus, was a double yolker!

Awesome and congrats. I am waiting for my 3 young Barred Rocks to start laying. Their faces have turned red and I seen one in the nesting box today. I know any day they will begin to lay.

My little Muscovy duckling taking a bath in the water dish. They love jumping into the water dish and swim around.

If my scovy boys were not so heavy, I thought about it, but they end up hurting the smaller one's..

The scovy boys have their own bachelor pad.

Congratulations! It's so much fun! I wonder if I will ever tire of getting eggs from my backyard...

Yes it is! I picked up 8 little ducklings from her. I think they have doubled in size already.

I found my first egg from my Barred rock today!!!

I love the teeny tiny egg. The first picture the egg is looking lost in the egg carton. The next picture the egg next to it is from my older Barred rock hen.

Need help to settle an argument, this little one was running around the yard and all of a sudden just stopped and slept for 5 minutes, then got up and took off like nothing happened..
Hubby say's only a girl would be that lazy, and I say only a boy could fall asleep that easily.
What you think?
