sure seems like a lot of work to me, why do that when you can have the real thing

Toss them in now. Higher humidity for a few days won't hurt them & you get babies sooner.

ok. Do you think this will work ok? I took all but 2 trays off my auto turner and put the turkey eggs in the turner and my soon to hatch eggs in an egg carton on the other side. I'm just afraid of a baby getting stuck under the turner.

of course I did a quick candling while I was reorganizing lol. No internal pips yet but babies were wiggling and pushing against that air cell :)

You can hand turn until you see a pip then just let them go while the others hatch. Or, you can put a cardboard or wire divider between the hatching eggs & the turner rail. Not crucial that they be turned the first few days, especially if they were shipped or had a car ride.

well then I think what I'll do is just unplug my turner when I notice the first pip then plug it back in after I get the babies out :)

That should work too as long as you are home to catch the pip before the first 1 hatches. I've never used a turner. Even my cabinet is hand turned.

The one in front is the tiny bantam mottled cochin we had to nurse back to health after her long journey via the postal service. The kids named the two mottled cochins Kili and Fili after the dwarves in the movie The Hobbit. This one is Fili. She is penty spunky now!

I did a quick candle of the Ayam Cemani eggs on day 3 (while I was putting the turner on), got none developing, I haven't given up hope completely, but am not feeling so good about it. At least the money went to a good cause.

Wishing it would warm up again, those few days of warmth were quite a tease. Have a great day all!
