Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

LOL. I'm anxious to see if the pullet will have lacing on her wings. None of the mothers do. The grey chicks are a mystery too. Two are darkening in spots. Not sure what to expect from them either.
I do see that some of Fisherlady's chicks are splotched black-and-white like mine. Fisherlady, do you know if they stay like that as adults?

Wear all black, and soft soled sneakers so they don't hear you coming. Wear night vision goggles, and a ski mask. You creep into the coop at night...
Go in at night with a flashlight, and check near their vents and the exposed area. Look at the roosts. You will see them. Then give them a dusting with Sevin dust or food grade DE to treat. In the future, be sure they have a dust bath to keep bugs at bay.

Girl!! You just crack me up. Hear you coming? do mites even have ears? hmmmm

I'm told, although I haven't been there, that my local TSC has chicks in.

Yes, someone there texted me. I think I have a reputation.
Ha! TSC has your phone number?? lol I believe the strategy is to wait a few weeks until they fatten up and mark their meat birds WAY down, then you buy them!

YES! Just won a coop from a Facebook competition. Gonna use it for more chickens, or Chukar (if I can ever find any)

Sweet!!
Hey guys!

Returning from a very busy, mystical journey at the land of college!

May be returning to my beloved poultry shortly as I was reached out to by a local 4H aid requesting my services in my club again as apparently the current leader is trying to step down.
Also was asked by the same person to possibly help in some poultry themed days at a local farmer's market my town is trying to start up.

So I thought I'd sneak in and catch up! missed you people

Wow!!! Where you been hiding?? Are you really back? 4-H Meeting is this coming Tuesday and would LOVE to see you there!!!

What's the status on the chicken train? The insane poultry addict in me would love to get my hands on a few of @dheltzel 's midget whites and maybe a mottled or two...? Clearly I've lost my mind, but I know the rest of you are enablers so I know you'll understand.

No chicks yet.
Because of the six minimum, I'm hoping they have Pekin ducks when I go. I would rather get six Pekin and process the drakes. I'm afraid I'd be tempted to keep a drake of another breed. :-D

My Tractor Supply in Oxford PA has amber and black sex link--but the Oxford feed and Lumber has easter Eggers, Buff orpingtons and barred rocks--they were sold out of everything else for this week.I was SOOOOO temted by the easter eggers --but what I really want is a pretty Americana for blue eggs and eye candy!

I guess I'm an Ameraucana snob, I just can't get interested in EE's, only the "real" ones. I have a bunch of Am chicks on order to get some different colors. Our blue/black/splash Ams have finally started laying and I have eggs incubating. Looks like good fertility from my "super roo" with the Ams and the Cali grays.
