Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

@MotorcycleChick. 2 chicks are out from under Mama broody. It's so hot out they aren't even staying under her, even though they just hatched today! At least one more egg has pipped as well. She had 8 eggs under her as of last night. So excited!! :jumpy. :weee

Not really a meatie, just stocky Eggers with rooster culls that are a bit heavier than average birds. Not going to keep the hens up they show any signs of discomfort but if they are happy and healthy they can stay. They are very calm and friendly...

I have a "rule"that the first time the brooder has to be changed, the babies go outside.

humm, my brooder is in a spare bedroom, and its needs cleaning right now!!!.....my measure is when they can't get through 2x4 welded wire.....think that's around 5 wks..
(4 more to go)....
