Sheryl Crow had to be processed yesterday. She's always been my special girl, wanting to be first at everything. She became the odd chicken out about two months ago.
She began sleeping in the rafters a week ago.
Yesterday, she had a broken leg and torn comb. She was badly pecked. It just had to be done.

I'm so sorry to hear this :(

RIP Sheryl... That must have been very hard for you.

Looks like the rain that was supposed to be 100% here has now dissipated. Great day to do my painting now. If only I could stop checking on my broody and her chicks.... Haha!

Thanks. It wasn't easy plucking her. I felt like I was hurting her! I also wasn't sure I'd be able to eat her, but now I think I will be fine. Cooking right away seemed the best option. She was so small, it wouldn't have been worth freezing her for later.

Lancaster Fancy Fowl has them, but they are pricey. Anyone selling them is likely asking a high price. If you really want them, let me know how many you want and I might be able to get them for a reduced price if you are willing to be patient.
@dheltzelsorry it's taken so long to get back to you. I'm still interested. I seen online where you could get eggs, but I'm not into hatching out our own eggs...yet!!! I also seen how expensive they are. Is that just because they are new or rare? We just want them for pets and seen how beautiful they are. We are wanting at least 2 of them. Thanks for any information you can give me.

I'm so sorry to hear that....culling is always difficult but when it is a special bird it becomes so much harder. :hugs

Lavender anything is a hot color now. Like anything else, it's all about supply and demand and right now there is more demand than supply. Also, be prepared to get some roosters, in fact if you want 2 hens, you really should buy more than 2 chicks - they could easily both be males. Imagine spending $75 to get 2 roosters.

I was lucky to have someone here to do the processing for me. I watched, but some things are still a mystery.

how many do you have and how much for them? if so i would like a trio 2 females and a male for breeding and showing

I don't have any available for the forsee able future. I have folks who have previously bought from me waiting for what I currently have with broodies and I don't ship.
If you need breeding stock you can contact horstmanpoultry.com. , he usually has birds or eggs available and he does ship.
