hello to everyone, I do have a question that some or all of you may be able to assist me with. at what day time temperature do you all start putting you egg in the fridge. usually mine are on the counter for maybe a week but since it is cooler now ...... suggestions appreciated and thank you
I think they are fine for several weeks. I usually pop mine into the fridge, but that's just because they are out of the way. Maybe this year when I get more, they will be on the countertop for a bit...
A little late, but I'm new to BYC. Lackawanna county, Pa!
Hello and welcome!
WAY too sweet! I have no chicks.

150?! GoodNESS! I usually wait until night and then treat mine on the roost, I sustain way less injuries that way.

I know I'm being a thread hog, but haven't been on much and need to get it out of my system. ;)
Post away! That tom is gorgeous :)

 Did you call yourself crazy?
I think I must belong to "crazy chicken people ". I don't have any chicken now, but still check this website every day. And I have several plans for my next coop and is constantly looking for a better option.
Welcome to our people! I didn't have chickens for a few months either. Didn't stop me from lurking and posting. And planning, and dreaming and...

I'm sorry. I think the chicks you got from me were carriers of the "crazy chicken person" virus. Anyone know if there is a cure? I suppose if some had been cured they might stop hanging around this thread so we'd never know.
The cure is more chickens. However, no one has ever had enough chickens for full remission. Apparently the dose varies from person to person.

Good early afternoon, PA!I live in Schuylkill County and will be moving soon. Looking to rehome my last two old lady silkies where they can live out the rest of their natural life and not become dinner. I'm not sure where I can post, or if I can post, something of this nature in the forum. If anyone has any advice, or interest in Loon and Big Bird, I'd be grateful.

Have a great day!

Hi there! I would love to give your lovely girls a forever home. We just moved, and I am still get my setup in place, but I do want silkies again! My last one was a Roo and we had to rehome him. I am willing to drive an hour to pick them up. I am in Upper Bucks county. Feel free to Pm me if you'd like more info about me. Thanks for trying to find them a good home!

Okay all. The hubs said he wants to go out to dinner tonight. I will ask him after he has a beer or two and relaxed. Also bought his favorite ice cream yesterday, but he didn't see it in the freezer yet. Should be able to talk him into letting me have these two lovely Silkie girls. After all, I'm not buying them, I'm rehoming them...

I don't think rehoming counts in chicken math!:gig

He said yes! :weee. Even before he got his dinner or dessert! So excited, I've wanted silkies again since we had to give up our Roo Hercules. Now I get fluffy girls that may go broody. And plenty of other girls to lay fertile eggs for them. My chicken math will go from addition to multiplication in the spring, haha.
