Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

It's tough losing one of those, they seem so much like kittens, all fluffy and soft. I lost one last week when it got under a pile of it's siblings and suffocated.

Aww :( it is so hard to lose them. They're such sweethearts.

So sorry you lost her.  Do you have any more?:hugs

Thank you. I do still have a couple. Hopefully nothing happens to the rest of them.

I'm from Warren County!!! I just have a small flock of 5.

Welcome!! There are lots of great folks here who can help you fill your coop. haha!

They were gorgeous when I saw them at your place. Will you be keeping any Bielefelders for next year? The one female I have is just gorgeous and very quiet, I think I would still like more of them. If not, I can touch base with a gentleman that had them in Easton. I'm okay with eggs too, if one of the Silkies or other girls go broody. The one Bielefelder is getting very big all of a sudden. She is now as big as the Legbar and Black Sexlinks. Hopefully when she gets bigger, the other girls won't be as bossy. Maybe!

I think I will remove my Silkies from quarantine on Tuesday. They seem pretty healthy. Should I keep them in a pen in the yard so the others can observe them for a couple days, or should I just put them on the roosts at night? They are old and tiny, so I want try to have the easiest transition possible.

Anne:

For my two cents, let them see/hear each other for a while....since alot of your chooks are on the younger side, that may help too....

Lelanae:

Sandhill does straight run only....if I luck out and get a fistful of girls, I'll sell you one at cost....that probably won't be until spring....ping me then.....

Oh that would be terrific! I would have to pay more than cost since I would be getting a girl and I would want to cover feed costs. I really really miss my lavender Orp 'roo--he had some faint cuckoo markings too!

I went out and grabbed a couple pictures to share today

Here's my new crew from @Dheltzel. They'll be in a crate for the first week to get introduced to everyone.

The muscovies are getting big. They're around 10 weeks old now. They thought it was beautiful afternoon to enjoy a swim and a splash :)

Auro:

Your crested OEs look identical to the OEs I gave to Anne....is that a BCM boy over CCL girl???

Well it may take a few months to figure it all out and a few months to know boys/girls so maybe not count your chickens,,,til......time will tell.....
