I can get BBS LF cochins from either Sandhill or a local source that would be available sooner. I wouldn't count on any of those being top show birds. I can ask about getting some eggs of show stock if you want.

Also Privett has a bunch of different colors of LF Cochins, including barred, gold and silver laced. If you got barred and blacks, you could make black sexlink cochins to sell sexed pullet chicks.

Hubby loves cochins and I would like to get a couple for him. Local source would be fine. Maybe some eggs or chicks could catch a ride on the easter chicken train? He already wants me to breed one to one of Ralphie's toads to get him a giant feather ball chicken lol.

Two is still too young to fully enjoy the trip. My son is 3.5 now, he is really having a good time there. I think 4 would be even better.

I agree. It will be a while before I get the nerve to take her that far from her biological parents anyway.

Ducks were running around the yard yesterday because all of the snow melting and they had too many puddles to choose from. Today they won't even come out to say hi.... Stupid snow.

LOL! Yeah, the flock finally ventured out. I was about to bring food and water down to the coop.

I'm heading down right now with lettuce and water. The little guys finally flew down to the creek but my Muscovies are apparently to good to walk in the snow.

My guys snuck out when I accidentally left the door open. Turkeys first, then the rest of the group. I shoveled some paths for them so they are not stuck standing in snow. The sun has actually come out, and is shining so brightly and melting some of the snow already.

@fisherlady. I was nervous I wouldn't get my special mail today, but when I called the post office, they said all of the trucks are out. Whew! :thumbsup

It would be nice if the sun came out here. It's a dreary day and still snowing off and on. It's a wonderful 22° here too, blah.

What's the starting humidity for the eggs? 35%? I guess I should start that now.

That's what I start with. I run about 30-35 until lockdown.

Poo. The mail came, but my package of eggs did not. :/

Tracking says package was out for delivery? You need to get on the phone with local carrier. I'm worried the eggs will be frozen if left on a truck overnight.

That's weird, when I checked it, the usps.com says the last update was from yesterday. I thought about calling the post office, but they were closed by then.
