Muscovy.
So many of us wanted to believe that they were Pekin last year. I fought so hard to will them into being Pekin. :lau
They aren't the uglier Muscovy fortunately. But! They have talons!! Be sure your arms are covered when picking them up.

She is beautiful, as are the rest of your birds. I have to say i didnt know much about them till you told me of your tsc story. I read up on them and they seem like a great first duck to have. Is your girl sweet and broody?

@NickiePA
 , welcome from Pittsburgh! :)  Your ducks are adorable!  I'm not familiar with the concept of a house duck, unless you mean a temporary arrangement until their feathers come in.  I'm intrigued, though.  I've really wanted ducks for years, but gave up hope when I heard how messy they are (even compared to chickens!).

They don't have any feathers yet, and with this nutty weather there's NO way I could put them outback. Not yet. I've been researching "house ducks" online and on this site. People buy or make "duck diapers" and keep their ducks as inside pets. I'm still researching pros and cons but so far, I'm not seeing anything wrong with the idea. My two don't have super harnesses yet, but maybe they will in the future!

So Friday Night I got to check out DHetzel's hatching and brooding set up. I could not possibly be more impressed. I think I stared in awe with my mouth hung open the majority of the time I was there. I have NEVER seen so many beautiful chicks in one place at one time before. We're lucky to have him in PA with us.

Broody update, Brownie was the happy recipient of 9 beautiful Lavender Americauna chicks which we had picked up from @Auroradream26 yesterday. We gave them to her 2 at a time yesterday through the evening, ending with a group of 3. She transitioned to mama mode overnight and this morning we moved her from the box she had set in for the past 3 weeks to the broody hut in our people area of the hut. The chicks took to her right away and are already exploring a bit in their new area. Looks like it was meant to be.
Mindy knew there were chicks under there...she was determined to be the first to see them! LOL
