Looks like you made some scores there at the Depot. Lowe's is my 'Money Pit' of choice when it comes to coop building materials. When I'm picking lumber at the Depot, they always treat me like I'm an alien.... 'Hon, you must be lost. The wallpaper and paint are over in Aisle...'. The truth is, they are equally as closed minded at Lowe's, but not the one I go to in Avondale.

Still no info on duck shipment. I just don't know what to do. Here are some of our new EEs.

A little worried about the last one. She doesn't want to open her eyes much but I'm doing everything I'm supposed to so hopefully she'll be okay. My first non large hatchery chicks and I'm super happy with them. I can't wait till I've been doing this long enough to tell colors. Any opinions on what I got?

So glad they are doing well. Quite the variety you have there. I'm not sure how much help I can be, but here are my EEs as chicks. The very light chick (top, middle) was of some interest to DHetzel, he wanted to know what she'd grow into.

And, we've all got a 'Brownie', right?

Been working on training the pup and he's doing well. It is tedious to say the least to ALWAYS keep right on top of him when the birds are out. But it will be worth it in the end. ETA: the second pic is exactly what I want him to look like when he is around any of the animals. He is supposed to be 'on guard'. It is a natural behavior to go into 'play stance' around the birds and goats, but that gets a firm 'No.' from me, every single time. This breed is so sensitive, that getting their feelings hurt from hearing 'No' goes a long way in training. It has backfired with Bella. We brought the pup home at night, it was dark and she approached with aggression. She got a clear loud 'NO' and I covered him with my body. She has not once been aggressive toward him since. She even lets him steal her treats, the problem is...he tortures her. He is for ever chewing on her tail, legs, ect...and she comes to me with a pathetic look on her face. I wish she'd give him a good nip and put him in his place.

They are so adorable! I can't help with colors though. Down color can turn in to anything lol. I I'm so sorry about your duck shipment. It's terrible that this just keeps happening :(

Don't you just hate that? I haven't had any issues with that while marching around at my Lowes or Home Depot (usualy buying lumber lol) but a few small shops have been like that. One guy at a fireplace shop was about to get punched in the face the one day. Hubby was there that time and was laughing to himself and preparing to step in. He brings that up every now and then and if I mess something up that's "man's work" he jokes around saying "where's your husband?"

He is just absolutely adorable! I'm glad training is progressing but poor Bella! It's amazing how sensitive certain breeds can be to their people.

I'm glad they all survived! I hope the last one perks up. I'm really sorry about your duck shipment. I hope you get reimbursed for it. And hopefully you can try again in a month or two when it may be warmer and safer for them to travel. Those EE are so cute, I'm not sure what color you will be getting but, you will definitely get a "brownie" like someone else mentioned. We have one too!

Congratulations with the training going so well! What a sweet pup! Can't stay mad at him long!

Still nothing on my duck order!!!!! How is that even possible how can no one know where a box of 20 crying birds is! No scans at all still says due on Friday. I just don't know what to do.

Some good scores! The treat dish looks about perfect for brooder use.

What you got was a whole lot of adorable! Look at those cheeks!
Generally I have seen that the stronger the chipmunk striping the more likely to get lacing on the base color, so I think you will have a couple of 'Brownies', a couple of buffs with blak lacing (think 'Steelers chicks' black and gold) and the lower right looks like it may end up being a smoky gray with a darker head. The dark one may stay blackish or may be a really dark partridge color. No matter what they end up being you will definitely end up with a beautiful variety! Glad they made it...and so sorry the ducks haven't, again! That is just crazy!
