My hens have pretty much quit laying, no artificial light, etc. All first year pullets. I was surprised this morning when I found a pulley egg. I know it's he first, since all my eggs are brown, until now. Finally, an EE pulling her weight! Worth the wait, to me. All my others lay light brown.

YAY!!!! I gave my first doz and half extra to my mom today!! LOL Little Luke did the packing, "Momma, Gremmy dont need double yo yo's so I am keeping them all, but I will give her a blue egg or two" he he he his fathers son!

They are Chads Mama I think he said he had the Marans and comets together??? Cha Cha Chad??

Yeeeeeeeeeeessssssss . They are BCm crosses. The BCm is more dominant and should provide a darker more proficient layer.

I need to find some marans hens for the spring.

A. There's gonna be a new bcm boy from a different line.

B. I would like to breed the lil BCM roo crosses to see what comes out with a straight hen and my lil black crosses.

I need a nerd emoticon with goggles and a chicken....Wing...whatcha got? lol

Nice! How old was the EE? My girls are about 6.1/2 mo old and my PBR's just started laying. I have 2 EE's. my husband wants to see a blue or green egg..... LoL. The chickens are my project, so I am surprised at his interest!

They are 7 months. Some started around 5 1/2.

Ok, thanks. One of them is squatting, albeit quite briefly, the other, calmer one, hasn't. Mya is my chicken I call "ding bat", she's a train wreck, lol. So maybe in the next few weeks ill get one from either of them!

With the kids off from school today...the boys were outside playing....either A. They stole the eggs from the hen house and tossed them somewhere...or B. they scared my hens into not laying in the coop! GRRR
