Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

we have family & friends in your neck of the woods.
It is a mess out there...lots of people, can't imagine being in Lancaster city right now.
They really need to reconfigure their snow removal program, beyond frustrating...living in the mountains, you think we would have the worst roads after snow falls..not saying ours is anything great and all, but come-on.
The kids up here in this district had school this morning, but they left-out at noon.
There was a mold issue earlier in the season and the kids missed a lot of school. Now the district is trying not to miss any days unnecessarily.
The kids have a 3 hour delay already for tomorrow...

My hubby had to pick up the girls from school on his way home from work. They stoped all bus transportation. So the girls and hubby got home aroun 5:00pm. He said roads were really bad. He was thankful his 4x4 works great in his truck. I am thankful my family is all at home.

Wow, what a long day for the girls :( What about the kids the parents get to? Very rough.

Apparently, our little valley has been sheltered here. Everyone around us has been completely dumped with the snow. We have maybe 2 inches in our yard but there's more snow on the hills around the corner and 8" in Altoona.

In case anyone doesn't know about it, I this today:

You can track the plow trucks and check road traffic conditions on it. I've been watching it like a hawk tonight since hubby will be attempting the drive home :/

I opened the coop, and gave water. No one rushed out.
The plastic I put up around Aretha did its job as a snow block.

The dog:rant  Decided to cross the highway. Made more scary because he has a rope on him. If someone hit the rope, and it wound around ... :hit My baby would be drug to his death.
Maybe he did it because it’s morning, and the snow is fun, so he lost his impulse control? I except this nonsense if he catches a scent (though he can’t find a treat in front of him, so...). Anyway.
Gotta love those ears!

I wish I had had my phone/camera. I went out to give Aretha some water, and she ran over to drink. She’s apparently forgiven me for bothering her to get a picture of Baby Face (the only egg hatched of six). Baby was making the cutest sounds! More like a Budgee. Aretha stood there drinking forever, and Baby finally began eating.
Totally adorable, and it reaffirms that babies are tougher than we think.

we use this a lot with all the doctor traveling:rolleyes:..it has saved us from being one of those stuck out there for hours...it's enough for me when we sit for red lights sometimes...depends on the day i guess;)

I have got to get some pics up here..we have a very good foot of snow here..no kidding.
When we watched the weather last night and "they" said our area has , at that point , about 6.5 inches..we both just laughed....wondering were in the word they are getting their info. from..honestly, one has to wonder if they even look out the window before they start their weather reports....we are in the higher elevations though.
The dogs (pomeranians) are enjoying the snow, the little one (8 months), this is her first time in it. This stuff seems to be bringing out her inner "sled dog"..hahaha
We have to continually clear their potty areas or they get lost..seriously!:wee
The neighbor have great danes..hahaha, they just trot right through this stuff like nothing...:p
Hope everyone is well, safe & warm.
No school today for the kiddos..got the g-daughter. Will have to get out there & make a snow man or something.
Temps are up too, snow is melting fast and very heavy now...looking at very bowed wires..makes me nervous. Hope nothing knocks power out today.

The girls were just like this...they don't even want to look at the snow:lol:
i think the're in denial, hahaha...really wish we would have the 'run-project' finished. Didn't get to do anything with it this year:hmm..hopefully next season we can get the run completely covered.:fl..so much we are behind on now as it is...
DH doesn't even have the plow attachment on the mower yet:he..we were definitely not ready for all of this, not a good feeling.
