:fl hoping we won't get too much rain today thru tomorrow.
We still have quite a bit of snow on the ground. The ground is froze, there are some nice sized puddles around.
Only two of the chickens have bothered to venture into the snow in their run so far. They have the fencing perimeter trail worked down well.
Majority of the time they all just stand right at the edge of snow/dirt-mulch area, under the roof and make their "we are not amused" noises.

Once the weather starts to get warmer I am thinking of making a pen for some baby or young turkeys. I want to get at lest a pair to breed. What is the best breed for that? And also would be good to have out with my chickens?

Basically all heritage turkeys are the same "breed" just different colors. Pick a color you like and go with it! I have turkey poults available now BTW lol

You will love turkeys! Any of the heritage turkeys are good for this. According to Glenn Drowns (Sand Hill Preservation Center, author of one of Story's poultry books) the Spanish Black is the most disease resistant of the various strains. I have never had those, but the Royal Palms and Mottled Blacks I breed are pretty tough birds.
Turkeys and waterfowl are much better "winter keepers" than chickens (and peafowl), no issues with frostbite or worries about draft vs ventilation. I'm really enjoying them a lot more this winter.
It will be a few weeks before I have poults or ducklings. I'm near Pottstown, E-town is about half way between @Auroradream26 and me.
