So we just move to our new house. Now I need to determine what to build for chicken coop. Hubby cannot help me too much, so it'll be my job. I never did any carpenter type job in my life  , but I have all the tools needed from hubby. I have to buy a existing shed to modify. Our 1 acre yard in completely fenced with 4' chainlink. The gate is too small to let some one bring in a shed. So my only choice is to get shed kit and assemble it. Here is my two candidates:

7'X10' Plastic

8'X8' wood

Hubby wants to get the plastic one, and I prefer the wood shed. I have to frame several windows for the shed. It would be quite a challenge to frame windows for the plastic shed. It has steel reinforce bars inside, and I have to drill holes around it for long bolts to hold my frames and the shed together. I can add window frame to the wood shed much easier. The shed will sit on a 24" high deck base(Yes, I have to build that first), so the heavy wood shed will be more difficult for two of us to put together. Would anyone please give me some suggestions?

I guess I forgot to mention that I'll have 5~6 chickens to start with, and wouldn't have more than 10 total. They are family pets, so I want a large enough coop for them. Hubby will run electric and water lines to the coop later.
