Problem with my JG. This weird growth is on its butt, quite a ways below the vent. Anyone ever see something like this? I’m going to ask in the Hatching forum too.

I know it’s hard to see, especially on an all-black chick. The vent doesn’t show at all, but it’s up under the tail and looks fine.

Yes, legally. So many people don't follow that rule.

That looks like the navel or remnants of the yolk sack. Most times, that fades away within the first couple days. Just make sure the others don't peck at it.

Yesterday was day 28 for the Turkey eggs. Some started to pip yesterday. None came out. This morning I woke up to weird bubble stuff at a couple of the pip holes. Is that normal? And how long does it take for them to come out of their shells?

15 hatched so far! I don’t know how this is possible, but I have 3 blues! They have clean black legs and clearly Jersey Giant features. I think blue is recessive in Jersey Giants, so either they were all laid by the same hen (Mary, my only blue) or Hero was also 1/2 blue and showed black. I don’t think my other roo Danny has any blue in him, he’s a wheaten Easter Egger, I think first generation Araucana/SL Wyandotte. One of the chicks is this gorgeous silvery blue color with an almost metallic shine, never seen anything like it. What fun! ❤ ✝

The little black seems a little weak/tired, but is trying and the umbilicus swelling is going down. It’s protecting it from the other chicks by lying on its tummy. Keeping a close eye on it.❤

3 have final come out of the shells. 1 is half way out. I see 3 more have piped.

Put some silkie eggs from show lines in the incubator Wednesday. Today is day 2. Found a nurture right 360 over the weekend, too! Can't wait for these guys to hatch. They shipped from Florida though. So tellin6g my fingers crossed.
