Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

I went into the storage room, got a splinter under my fingernail. Stood up, worked it out. Turned to grab the bucket of water, didn't grab the bucket of water. Someone wanna tell me why/how two mice drowned in there? Walked into the coop to get the waterers, and walked back out to see a pullet yank a worm out of the ground. I have never seen them do it before, and I am trying to forget. I love snakes. I am afraid of worms.
This all happened in about one minute. When all was finished, I grabbed a pullet that needed some attention, and brought her in the house. The dog was so excited. He thought he was getting a new housemate! I thought about it. Then I thought about the poop. Decision made!

Well, the sand comes for the coop today! I hope I have enough energy, after moving a ton of sand, to build sand castles with the chickens!
Get well soon!! I am hoping that we don't get any of that here! Last year I had 3 kids with pneumonia and 1 ended up in the hospital for 3 days with major fluid in his lungs. I'm hoping for an easy winter. LOL!

Went to Tractor supply today, got my Sav-a-chick, pine bedding and a tote for their first week or 2. I know I made that pretty Brooder, but I want to keep them in my office for now until I feel they are able to withstand the cold a bit better....yes, I'm gonna spoil these babies like major! LOL!! I even got a waterer bottle thingie at awl-mart on sale for 5 bucks! (That one is for when they are bigger. LOL! I also got Starter food The company begins with a D...(it's in the car, otherwise I'd say what I really got. LOL)

York PA here, looking to start chickens in the spring. Probably just 4-5 hens for the wife and I.
