Ten last night is up to thirteen on Wednesday alone.

Mine keeps going back and forth between 3-6" and 5-10" so who knows what we'll end up getting lol

With no snow in the run, the chickens apparently thought the whole property was green. I left the two people doors open while topping off feed, and checking for eggs. My RSL went out to the outer door, and was like, “oh, no! I don’t think so!” and came right back into the coop.
I am satisfied that the quail have enough bedding now. They keep burrowing down, and I don’t see all of them until I offer scratch. One has a preferred spot right where I toss the straw in the entrance to the back section.
Today is actually a perfect winter day. A layer of white, the sun is present (a little overcast though), and it’s just warm enough to keep the waterers from freezing.

I just looked, and Christmas morning we should definitely have enough snow for playing in.

Sally reviewed a waterer in the original incubation thread. The one we typically see she hated because the water level is too high. I saw one place with the one she preferred, but it was out of stock. No clue where I even saw it now. Anyway, I found the screenshot of the place she used, and a three gallon heated waterer is $35. I have seen some sky high prices while looking around, so that is an awesome price to me. I’ll definitely be getting one soon for the “I think I’m a duck” quail.

The only thing I don't like about those is the really short cord. I picked up 2 of these this summer and so far they've been doing great. I didn't get them from chewy but it was the first one that came up when I searched.

Really? I like the regular one okay (and Chewy had a better price than Rural King), but I don’t like it enough to pay that much for another.
