I just ordered 48+ Large Fowl Cochin eggs Black, Blue, Splash. My Black Australorp order is 18+. The Java, and Coronation Sussex are both going to be 12+ each. That is going to be a lot of peepers, hopefully in my brooders!

I hope the Cochins are going to continue to be really popular. The Black Australorps are going to be for my egg flock. They are gorgeous. The hens are just a wonderful beetle green, they lay really well, don't mind the cold, keep laying in winter. I am going to be honest, I am getting 1-2 eggs a day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most of my ladies are to young to lay. I think I sold to many of my older birds to soon to keep up with my egg demand. I don't really have a standard chicken coop. I have a 12 x 72 foot area, that can be divided into 6, another 12 x 48 foot area undivided, and 2 12 x 12 foot horse stalls, and one outside coop that I store my bike in. I will list off what I have:

2 female geese, 1 Toulouse and a Buff American
1 pair of Royal Palm Turkeys

5 LF Cochings 1 Blue Rooster, 2 Blue hens, and 3 Black hens I have one black, and one blue hen 4sale
1 pair of Silver Laced Bantam Cochins
5 Mottled Bantam Cochin chicks
1 Black Naked Neck hen aka Elviria
2 Blue Andalusian hens
3 English Orpingtons 1 Blue rooster, 1 Blue hen, and 1 black hen
3 Silver Laced Wyandottes 1 rooster, 2 hens
2 Sumatra 1 Splash, and 1 Blue
1 mix Blue Andalusian x Silver Laced Wyandotte hen
then I have an undetermined amount of Ameraucana

I know I have 18 5 week olds, 11 10 week olds
1 Splash hen, 2 Splash roosters
1 Blue Rooster, 4 Black Roosters (will go down to 2, after some more growing to determine which ones)
as for blue and black hens, lets say I have a lot at least 20 maybe 40???? LOL I am really not sure!

I may have missed some, it took me 20 minutes to write this post????????????

Welsummers can be sexed at birth. The female has what I like to call "eye liner" the dark line extending beyond her eye towards her ear is dark and very well defined. On the male, that same line is light and blurry. Similarly, if you look at the triangle on the top of their head, on the female it is dark and clearly defined, the male's triangle is lighter and the edges are not clearly defined. In both of the chick photos below, the female is on the left, and the male is on the right. If you plan on doing your own breeding, it is highly advisable you grow out all the cockerels and select the best two to keep as breeders. The male if very important and under ideal conditions, should not be judged until one year of age.

chad the only quail I have are cot's, regular and jumbo.

Guess i will never be vegan...I can do without the meat, but not giving up my dairy...

I put all the cookie stuff away that was on the counter this morning finally found the energy to do some dishes and clean the counter, no baking this year : ( However, Eric made a little bit of fudge last night! LOL its actually good and I wasnt even hungry impressive!! he was bitching the entire time because he was burning it.... I had alot of cough laugh spasms,... first time in days!

My mom wanted to come help but I wouldnt let her in the house, she doesnt need to help me, she just had her second hip replacement for petes sakes, but later yesterday I had a ring at the doorbell and there was a hepa air purifier, UV light and all gifted from mommasita! Love my momma no matter how old we are! Moms ROCK!

Thanks for the well wishes..... EVERYONE!!!

My fever broke yesterday afternoon, feeling better today, Docs Fri. to check on the pneumonia, heart and figure out what tests are needed along with
my bonescans...... I just want it all over and fixed, its been 13 long and extremely tough years for me, and I pray we figure it all out sometime soon : (
