A few early picks, sorry about the light but they are still wet, only got moved because they were playing kickball......I think i counted 17 chicks and 7 quail, a few more trying to hatch from that bator yet....other bator with ducks and other shipped eggs is just starting to show movement....

My eyes go right to that little chipmunk! What kind are they Wing?

She is a cross beak. Her beak needs trimmed again too. I ignored the food until I heard her wheezing (or however you want to decribe that "I can't breathe!!! sound) in my ear (she sits on me a lot) and noticed her nostrils were packed with food too. Poor thing.

I can try to talk him into that. I showed him a picture of one online and that is what he made! Hopefully the girls use it soon! I am checking every day for eggs and nutting

chipmunk looking ones are the quail, need to seperate them once I see how many hatch, black colored ones are a mix of Ancona roo over production red and buff orps.......yellowish colored are heinz 57 (could be a number of mixes ). this whole bator is mixes, other bator are the pures........I kind of like the mixes for egg laying, you never know what you will get.

I forgot about that,  I was the only girl with 4 brothers, all I ever got was slingshots, they did not trust the girl to shoot untill I was a little older, but I got good with the slingshot,,,,,,still my weapon of choice...

OH!!! and I forgot, Chickies are hatching, brooder room is getting quite loud, will get pics later today, I was lazy and never set the room back up after fall cleaning, so I am compromising and using old dresser drawers for now...

And chad, this hatch has a couple, looks like 8 so far, of cot quail, i only set them to see how fertility was, if you are interested you can have them...will let you know how many hatch if you want them. i have no sunday plans this week , could meet up someplace.
