Ray....these were due the 1st. Didn't hatch till the 4th! I checked all the other eggs...looks like the leghorns were just late quitters and the rest were either infertile or quit somewhere along the way...my flashlight I was using for candling just couldn't get through the shells.

Now I have one black/yellow and one buff/brown. They are happy together...so that's good.

pics are off my phone so not very good one's.......yellow duck is pekin, grayish one I have no clue,,,and lots of babies...you asked for pics so now it's ...PIC OVERLOAD.......

i will try to explain without sounding nuts...

when my youngest daughter moved out, I claimed that room as the chicken room, ...hatching and brooding go on in that room..
Floor is pretty well stained up so no big deal with the carpet,,,,,I have huge sheets of thick plastic that i put on the floor then newspaper over the plastic,,,then the bedding (horse stall bedding) ,,right now I am using old dresser drawers for walls, normally I use hog panels that are set up tp be movable as the chicks grow....lights are on plant hangers from the ceiling with chains to be raised up as needed........It is literally a chicken room......told you I was nuts.....Did I earn the crazy chicken lady title yet....

i used cages at first, but the floor is so much easier to just scoop and clean........
