Something got my only EE hen today! 3 beers deep, and more on the way! I am sooo...ticked off! I've had a pair of Bald Eagles soaring over the property for 2 days now, and can't even blame them. I'm thinking fox?? DH found her in a thicket on the property, chewed on one side, and no head to be found. There are no emoticons for the way I feel right now. Sorry, had to vent! Only plus, 2 days before setting eggs for the Easter Hatch she laid me 2 pretty blue eggs that I set, and are developing, but this sucks. I've lost a chicken to a hawk before, but this is the first one I really loved. Time for another beer. Thanks for listening to me all.

Great pics! And what beautiful, healthy looking chicks! MsLadyHawke n I saw Bridgette today at the MD show. She is so nice! Told her we knew you, but forgot your real first name....duh! We did buy some chocolate chickens to help support the Montco 4H, our 4H needs some fund raising ideas.
Awe thanks! Oh yes, she's absolutely the kindest, most enthusiastic, resilient person I know. She's helping my a lot with what to expect with raising and breeding turkeys (I believe she's breeding beltsville small white right now) as well as keeping me updated with everything going on in 4H! Gotta love her!

it's pretty boring and forgettable. Thank you so much for supporting the club! Selling candy has always worked for us, and setting up sale stands at local feed stores, TSCs, walmarts, Ritas, and wherever else tolerates us is the best! I love meeting new people who's interest in our club has been peaked (especially if we have a turken or a silkie on display, something the general public has never seen before) that comes and talks to us, asks questions, stuff like that.

Talking and teaching people is rewarding on its own, and we definitely sell out fast!

*waves to New Milford from Berks County*
I used to wander Susquehanna County in my youth. Have 2nd & 3rd cousins up there!
I am dreading free ranging this spring/summer. Lost a lot of young stock to hawks last fall. Hopefully the dog will deter the local fox.
