Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

I have a door! This means less chickens in my house by the end of tomorrow! (Those darn 6wk old chickens STINK!). Still lots of work to do though....have to make a chicken door and build the auto door. Run the electric. Cover any holes in the eaves with hardware cloth. Cover the windows. Figure out how to enclose under the coop (Um, don't build a coop when the ground is frozen or you end up with the door 18" above the ground). Build a deck/steps so I can actually get into it. Order/install the door handle. Install poop boards and roosts. Build the PVC waterer and feeder.

And DH bought a solar panel for the roof yesterday! So I guess that has to be tied into the "electric" plans.

YAY :)

Looks great! Don't be afraid to add a nice porch in front of the door. We have a 4 ft porch on the front of ours and it makes all the difference in the world when it's muddy and icy outside!
Was worth every extra penny to us, at least.
Too darn funny
Cute! Friends recommended these two to us today...

and this one made us about howl! So cute!

I got a roo tues night from Fisherlady, Mr Green Jeans, he's adjusting very well. My question is, how long do I have to keep him in the coop before I can let him free range? Is 3 nights enough for him to know where home is?
I'd say he won't leave his girls now... so should be good to go!
Great news Motherhen! It isn't just Good Friday, it is a Great Friday!
X100 here!! Was a great day!
Well Mr Green Jeans and all the girls are enjoying this beautiful day out in the yard... I'm so impressed at how he watches out for his girls! ...think I'm going to have some fertile EE eggs soon! Probably only hatch them if I get a broody though
fl.gif
guess we'll see what happens though
Glad he is adjusting well! He is a good guy, glad he finally got a flock to call his own!
Don't ever apologize for needing/wanting/asking for help. We've all been there, and likely will be again.
Absolutely!

The peach festivals were many, many years ago. We do get down that way for the Old Tyme Days in July.

I'm always in the Olde Tyme Days parade with my church!

Hey yeah! My Loverman has done blacksmithing demos for the past few years there! :) my dad's band The Countrymen used to play there all the time ^^

folks, I have call ducks in the incubator, they will need a home if hatched,,,,,there's 14 eggs...

Ooh I might be waay interested! Just need to convince Loverman. :D

Made my first egg sale today!!! Good deal...$1 a dozen!!!!

Congrats!

slow down on posting ppl! I'm stuck at a steampunk convention in Gettysburg all weekend and am having a heck of a time keeping up!

Also way excited gardeningmama! How are the babies doing? Did my 5 hatch okay? Did ya keep track of which 3 came from the blue eggs? I am so curious! Think I can get em Monday night?

That's what it looks like at the moment, I'm not sure yet :)

They had 'non-Silkie' bantams at our TSC too, I was wondering what on earth they could be.

We went to the Dragon last night, can you say, 'Fry Pie'?, one of man's greatest Achievements. I discovered that they come in chocolate, dangerous, I know. I may never eat anything else....ever. We could not hang in until 8 for the livestock to be run through, which is a shame, because there was a huge hog there that I was very interested in seeing Keith handle. More livestock than I have ever seen there. I'll see if I can upload a picture. They also had a trio of Lady Amhearst Pheasants, very nice! I didn't even know what they were....went for HIGH dollar.
