I keep a calendar on top of mine. On the set date, I list how many of what kind of egg is set. Then I mark the hatch date on the calendar right away. 2 weeks ago, I still screwed up and had a couple chicks hatch in the turners. Now I put a piece of styrofoam egg carton with the set date marked on it tucked into each tray. So far, so good.

I was marking the eggs themselves (2-3 each set, and each set has it's own tray or trays). It was working, but then I got lazy and thought I could just remember on my own. Yeah, okay. So far I haven't had anyone hatch in the turner because I candle every week. Now, this will be a setting I get confused on because I just set on Saturday and I have to set again tomorrow night. I am getting way more eggs than I had planned.

Almost 1/2 of what I've been hatching is marans, so I have trouble candling them. I have a cheapie candler, and it's hard to see muchof anything even in regular brown eggs unless the room is pitch dark. Thanks to the fine enabling skills of Heatherscooby77, I have a Brinsea hi intensity model on the way and I'll get better at candling.

LoL. Yes really. I almost have a full dz. It would be 10 bucks for the dz and 16.85 for shipping. I do a super packing job! Lol.

Oh and any extras I get.. If I wait until monday to ship so they don't sit in the PO. I would HOPEFULLY get 4 extras to send to you

Rey, my hen I got from him is sick too. She is getting better. It was some form of acute respiratiory disease. Hopefully they will make it through alright!

I am posting pictures of the Mottled Cochins!!! Is anybody feeling like they want one? I just can't get enough of these cuties. I can't wait to hatch some of my own chicks!!!!

What did you give your hen? I am giving my guy Tylan 50, but... well... It's expired. By a year. It's a brand new bottle, so I am using it anyways. He doesn't have a runny nose now, but he's still raspy and sneezing. I don't really like spending so much on birds for them to be sick - but he was not sick when I picked him up, nor the night I got him home.

I am still wondering if Pen G wouldn't have been a better option. At least that's not expired.

Heather, I will be there to pick up some chicks when you have them! I would love some mottleds!
Oh, and I have a nice start to another Am. flock. I have about 20 chicks now and still have another dozen+ in the 'bator
