SS:

I'd try shining a flash light though the plastic. I also think that if you have a black tank sitting outside in the sun the water might get too warm....I dunno.....
I was going to go with blue or red & it will be on the hill above the coops completely shaded by trees most of the day.

In case anyone is interested, I'm selling off some laying pullets....just under a year old and laying , girls available are;

4 Silver Laced Wyandottes,,,, there is a Roo also
Black sex-link layers, Black Stars, several available
3 Buff Orpingtons
3 Black Copper Marans

PM me if interested
Ugggghhhhh! Stop tempting me with the SLW!!! I'm working on a wyandotte pen for the ones I have growing out...lol

Now if you have guinea eggs or keets for sale or trade that would be another story.

Yes I am in lock down now, My humidity was steady @ 35% during most of the hatch.. I am just replacing water, not opening it any more, through that tube, hose, I was pretty good with it untill lock down, now I am like a hawk! Will run home at lunch again to check

Wing, i recorded every day, morning and night and Noon if i was home,  I printed out the sheet from the link from her, Hatching eggs 101.. So trying to follow that article best I can.. I guess I will see how it goes in a few days, I did notice, I think, 1 rocking, could have bumped the table, I like to think it is rocking!! HA!!

I was cracking up reading this! Don't know how many times I've stared at an egg, that I thought I saw move....

ETA: today's score...Blarney 2, Goats 1.... I can't tell if I'm gaining or receding...

Wing's brabanter chicks. 4 of 6 shipped eggs hatched. She has generously asked if I wanted them and since I have no more room they will be going to a girl at work.

I am not candling yet, and I refuse to check the temperature every time I walk in the room. Does that count?
I am excited that the hearts have begun to beat. And I haven't gotten a stethoscope yet. Does that count?

will finally be getting (a couple),of my feathered girls!!!... The 26th... It's only been a year, I've been asking (sometimes) rather dumb questions and trying to learn as much as one can w/out the actual experience. Thank you sooo much everyone and their advice!! I know there will be more questions!!! Once the girls and I get "settled in", will be working on getting the second-half of the CPT certification!!

OK, anyone know of any swaps in the western half of PA this weekend. I really HAVE to unload some birds ASAP.
Isn't there one in Clearfield someone posted about??? More 'central' but check back about 30 pages or so or do a search maybe

Never mind, my bad memory... it is May 11th... sorry
Geez:

Well, my girls have only been 'free ranging' for two days and they've already found a small gap in the fencing around the garden...most of the time they wander around for an hour and head back to the coop for a nap...and they do like hanging out under the lilac bush....
Ours LOVE our lilacs around the yard. Glady yours are getting out and about and are doing well

Built my girls a playpen today. First time outside. Still kinda iffy about it.
400

this looks very much like the one I just built, I highly recommend some poultry netting across the top, I picked up a roll at Lowes for $13 7 foot by 100 foot. Very lightweight, I think they call it, 'wildlife netting'
