Quote: Oh, I'm beyond mad. 2 kids & a man better hope she puts herself back in the pen by the time I go check for eggs in the morning. Everyone is staying the heck out of my way at the moment. Bad part is, they had ALL been told more than once the kids were not allowed in the turkey pen or even to open the doors for any reason. This wasn't the 1st time he had sent them into the pen even after I told him not to. I have them a whole 2 days & 1 gone already.

Sorry Silkie, it's the Cabela's in Hamburg.

But Silkie is right, you will need a special hearing of the zoning board. If it only costs $250, you are getting off easy. Where I live it is $800ish.

Edit: Your zoning is probably listed on your Township tax bill, which should have come recently since they are generally due March 31.
Did you go through your township? HOw did that go?

I think my fav hen is trying to go broody. She was quite ticked at me fit taking her off the nest and taking the eggs.

soo... Do I give her dome eggs or try to keep her off the nest?
Depends...

Are there any breeds you want to add and have access to eggs for them?
Do you have room for another 6-12 fluffy butts running around? LOL... as if any of us sticks to our self imposed limits! EVER!!

Do you have a back up plan if she decides she's not in the mood and do you have time to raise the little ones if she can't or won't? (if you have busy Late May or early June with trips and such it may be hard to brood the chicks if you have to)

I love broodies and am looking for eggs for 2 of our own right now....

so anyone have a source for LF cornish (any color) and LF Dorking (again, any color) eggs???? *Horstman doesn't have eggs till later in the year and I don't think the hen can wait! LOL*

HI EVERYONE!!! It has been so long since I have been on here!! Just an up date... all my chickens are doing great and Im hatching eggs as we speak!! ONE JUST HATCHED!!
Though I had to ad water and now my humidity is up at 80% and I pray it goes down!

But out of my last batch of 10 I got 9 babies and I now have 14 eggs in there and on the 19Th day I candled everyone and they were all moving and doing great! I have 3 pipped and 1 just hatched!! I hope this batch makes it...
My little turd (3 year old girl) opened the bator today and all temps and humidity went down bad but as soon as I closed it they went up real fast. But then 20 min later I got my first pip! So that baby was the first to come out and now I'm hoping I don't have no shrink wrapped babies as my turd just woke up and I was outside with the dog scaring away a coon from the coop and she had it opened again!!! So at this point I was freaking out. I'm still praying that they all will hatch... but good grief!!! This is my FIRST time ever hatching and I'm loving it! Just not this part of it... I don't want the babies to die...
So for my next hatch I know I will be placing in a box and putting it up HIGHER than a chair can reach!!
