Evening everyone,
Been a hot and busy day!! Sorry to hear of so many family members being ill, I really hope they recover soon. The medical "industry" as a whole needs an over-haul, unfortunately, until then we/our loved ones are the ones to suffer the inadequacies. Roses... I am sorry you may have to make a heart breaking decision

I have prepared the bator and myself to enter into the unknown of egg hatching. I have printed out Sally's-(Thank you ) 45 page "guide" to keep by the bator for "quick" answers..(thank you MotherHen for the idea!

)...The bator is doing it's job very well, will be purchasing a humidity gauge tomorrow, a few more things to get ready...then setting the eggs

.....Not nervous, just very excited!! This opportunity has only been made possible by some extremely awesome people!! I hope I can thank them by having a great hatch

.... Might be AWOL for a bit...really feeling the "trip" and life in general

Well, sounds like you'll be needing a bigger brooder.....then maybe a bigger pen....then a bigger coop.....and then you'll need a better watering system....and don't forget feed.....the other chicken math....

Quick update: He is still alive! I think this is somewhat good as it rules out anything really bad, from what I have read and have been told he would not have made it through the night, No one else, at least while I am typing this, has any symptoms. He eats somewhat by himself, as long as I hold him and put the really wet food on a spoon. So he is hungry and thirsty, just can't hold himself correct to eat himself. He peeps, and is energetic, If he could control his movements, I think he would walk backwards. ( flipped himself backwards out of the box).

Treatment: Vit E oil, SavAChick Electrolytes, Grower Crumble(extremely wet) Yogurt mixed in.

ok, so..... one isbar didn't make it... and it was BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    So my only cream leg bar pullet didn't make it AND my Blue Isbar didn't make it.....   Ugh.... 

so tell me why I just ordered more eggs?

She'll need a brooder period, she only has adults!

Yay!! That's awesome that it's doing a little better, keep my fingers crossed that it keeps doing better.

I spent the night in the ER. I fell down my mom's boyfriend's bank and twisted my ankle. It swelled up and turned black and blue immediately. Thankfully it isn't broke that they can see. I have ligament damage and I have to wear a splint. I am trying to use it as much as possible - last night I couldn't walk on it at all. I can't get a hang of the crutches....

So, that was my excitement for my Saturday.



I am revamping my flock and selling birds again. Bantam Orps (blue, black and chocolate), LF chocolate & mauve Orp project, some Mille Fleur bantam Cochins, ducks and geese. Pm me if interested in anything.

Hopefully it will heal quickly, maybe you'll be able to get a walking cast. A lot more support than the splints usually are.

remember to check humidity in the room itself,,I have to change how i incubate with the weather,,,The incubator is a whole nother addiction.
